Is Peruvian coffee good?

Usually, a mildly acid cup, light-bodied but flavourful & aromatic. Peru coffee beans are known as a good blender due to its nice but understated characteristics. The Cuzco location, especially the Urubamba Valley, also grows respected wet-processed coffee. The highest level is AAA.

Is Peruvian coffee a dark roast?

Peruvian beans may be a darker roast but do not need to be. Light or dark roast depends on the coffee roasting after the coffee has been produced. Peruvian coffee is suited to both lighter and darker roasting.

Is Peruvian Coffee low acid?

The acidity of a coffee is as a result of the growing location and in part influenced from the way a bean is processed and roasted. Brazilian, Peruvian, Kenyan and Ethiopian beans falls into this type. The coffees that are less in acidity, such as Sumatran, are farmed at lower altitudes.

Peruvian coffee vs Colombian

Both beans exhibit a simple yet balanced flavour. Peruvian coffee is not as thick as Colombian, instead with a medium mouthfeel. Peruvian coffee is also medium in acidity and does not have the aromatic quality of a Colombian coffee.

Is Peru Coffee arabica or robusta?

Arabica is the dominant coffee farmed:

70 percent of which is Typica (Typica is an original Arabica type which is a tall and leggy small yield tree but produces high qualities, generally very sweet & clean);
20 percent is Caturra (Caturra is a natural mutation of the Bourbon coffee strain that was originally found in Brazil in 1937, considered to be the 1st naturally occurring mutation ever found); and
the rest being of other types.

About 75% of the coffee farming area lies at an altitude range of 1000–1800 m.

Low-altitude farms in Peru, like farms found around the village of Nambale close to the border with Peru and Ecuador, typically grow coffee with mild acidity, medium body, and smooth notes of nuts, flowers, & gentle fruit.
