Ethiopian coffee beans are coffee beans that originate from Ethiopia. Ethiopia has a long history of coffee bean farming, one that goes back a number of centuries ago. It is the origin for one of the most popular strains of coffee, Coffea Arabica, commonly called as Arabica coffee.

Yirgacheffe coffee is a cleaned, wet-processed coffee cultivated in & around a small town in southern Ethiopia, named Yirgacheffe. The coffee is cultivated at altitudes of between 1700 & 2200 meters ASL. Such elevations qualify Yirga Cheffe coffee to be classified as Strictly Hard Bean (SHB).

Such elevations slow the fast growth of coffee. Since the coffee trees grow at a reduced speed, they have more time to soak in all the nutrients in the soil. With the local climate, the Yirgacheffe also plays a huge role; the berries can develop a more robust flavour.

Ethiopian Yirga Cheffe coffee is characterized by its light acidity and the clean and complex floral notes in its aroma. Sometimes, the aroma might even have a hint of coconut. Some Ethiopian Yirgacheffe coffee varieties exhibit notes of citrus & tangerine.

Yirgacheffe coffee is considered to be the best coffee produced in the south areas of Ethiopia and also holds its own against other coffee varieties from other regions.

Single-origin coffee is coffee that comes from a little & specific area in the world.
