Such altitudes reduce the fast growth of coffee. Because the coffee trees grow at a slow pace, they have increased time to soak in all the nutrients in the earth. With the local climate, the Yirga Cheffe also contributes a huge influence; the berries can develop a more robust flavour.
Ethiopian Yirga Cheffe coffee is characterized by its bright acidity and the clean and complex floral notes in its aroma. Sometimes, the aroma may even exhibit a hint of coconut. Some Ethiopian Yirga Cheffe coffee types have notes of citrus & tangerine.
