FAQs

Colombian Coffee provides a mild acidity & a robust caramel sweetness, occationally with a nut undertone, similar to good quality Peruvian coffees. Colombian coffee beans have the most distinct coffee flavour in North America, that of sweet and medium bodied.

It is possible to make strong Colombian coffee in comparison to non-Colombian coffee types. The strength of the coffee will depend on the processing, roasting and brewing methods. Thus, Colombian coffee is just strong if it is prepared to be stronger.  Increased amounts of lower quality beans make a bitter brew, yet Colombian coffee keeps its flavour integrity even when pushed via more rigorous and vigorous brewing methods.

Colombian coffee beans produce a taste that is smooth, balanced, and light in body. There can be also overtones of fruit, almonds, and dark chocolate in the taste profile.

Colombian coffee is among one the finest in the world. Colombia has a long history of cultivating Arabica beans, & their specific topography makes it ideal for producing a tastey, high-quality drink. The coffee is renowned accross the globe for its taste & the distinct mild but rich aroma that comes from each cup. That may explain why they have been exporting coffee for about 200 years, & it’s been their biggest export for most of that time.

Most people consider Costa Rican coffee as the top one in Central America. Elevation classes are given to Costa Rican beans, with the highest rated beans produced at the greatest altitude. These beans are called strictly hard beans”.

In a little pot, boil water and panela. Panela is a product that is made from sugarcane, it is sweet and brown, is sold in blocks or grated & the taste is like that of brown sugar. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 30 min, occasionally stirring to melt panela.

In a little French press, place the ground coffee beans. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it gets to the top of the French press.

Brew for 4 min, stirring only once. Plunge the French press & pour the coffee right away.

Colombian coffee is best as a dark roast.  This due to the fuller, floral flavour, but light roasts made from Colombian beans are just as delicious. While keeping the bean’s taste, cocoa and caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The tastes & smells of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s growing conditions and processes make it considered to be the best by many people, especially because of its distinct flavour. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce tasty coffee with great quality at high altitudes. They are then prepared natually on small farms by hand. The high elevation produces a nicer flavoured bean. Due to its favourable climatic attributes, Colombia coffee beans are a rich, somewhat fruity, & chocolaty flavour.

The caffeine content of Colombian coffee is comparable to that of other coffee varieties. The caffeine concentration of a dark roast coffee is slightly higher than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is minor and may go unnoticed. Depending on the sub-variety & amount of roasting, high quality Colombian Arabica coffee has 30-50 mg per each espresso serving & up to 200 mg in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian beans are among the most well-known and popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied flavour that is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more praised for their robust and balanced flavours than for their particular flavour profile. Guatemala coffee is also quite good coffee.

    • The hulling proceedure

Colombian coffee beans are dried benith the sun for a few days or until the water amount reaches around ten%. This aids in the bean’s drying and preps it for hulling. Sumatran coffee stays far less time in the sun. Sumatran coffee is hulled with a lot higher moisture content, sometimes as high as twenty percent.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.

The Colombian coffee region, is named the Coffee Triangle. It is a part of the Colombian Paisa region in the regional area of Colombia. It is famous for culturing the biggest amount of Colombian coffee.
