FAQs

Colombian Coffee has a mild acidity and a robust caramel sweetness, sometimes with a nut undertone, similar to high quality Peruvian beans. They have the most identifiable coffee taste in North America, being sweet and medium bodied.

It is possible to make stronger Colombian coffee compared to other coffee types. The strength of the coffee is influenced by the processing, roasting & brewing process. Thus, Colombian coffee is only strong if it is made to be strong.  Higher amounts of lower-quality beans result in a bitter coffee, but Colombian coffee maintains its taste integrity even when pushed via more rigorous and vigorous brewing methods.

Colombian beans produce a taste that is smooth, balanced, and light in body. There can be also overtones of fruit, almonds, & dark chocolate in the taste profile.

Colombian coffee beans are among one the finest anywhere. Colombia has a long history of culturing Arabica coffee, & the country’s particular topography makes it perfect for making a tastey, high-quality coffee bean. The coffee is known worldwide for its flavour & the destinctive mild but rich aroma that comes from each brew. That may explain why they have been producing coffee for about 200 years, & it’s been their biggest export for most of that time.

Most people regard Costa Rican coffee as the best in Central America. Altitude ratings are given to Costa Rican beans, with the highest-rated beans grown at the greatest altitude. These beans are named “strictly high grown”.

In a small pot, bring water & panela to a boil. Panela is a product that is made with sugarcane, it is sweet and brown, is marketed in blocks or grated and the taste is like that of brown sugar. Reduce heat to low and cook for 30 minutes, occasionally stirring to melt panela.

In a little French press, put the ground coffee beans. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it gets to the brim of the French press.

allow it to stand for 4 minutes, stirring only once. Push down the French press & pour the coffee right away.

Colombian coffee beans are most suited for a dark roast.  This as a result of the fuller, floral taste, however light roasts made from Colombian beans are just as delicious. While retaining the bean’s taste, cocoa and caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The tastes and smells of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s cultivating conditions and processes make it considered to be the best by a lot of people, particually due to its distinct taste. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce tasty coffee with excellent quality at high elevations. They are then prepared natually on small farms by hand. The high altitude produces a better flavoured bean. Because of its favourable meteorological characteristics, Colombian coffee beans are a rich, somewhat fruity, and chocolaty flavour.

The caffeine concentration of Colombian coffee is similar to that of other coffee types. The caffeine concentration of a dark roast coffee is slightly more than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is minor & may not be noticable. Depending on the sub-variety & amount of roasting, high-quality Colombian Arabica coffee has 30-50 mg per each espresso serving & up to 200 mg in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian coffee beans are among the most well-known & popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied flavour which is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more known for their robust and balanced tastes than for their particular flavour profile. Guatemala coffee is also quite good coffee.

    • The hulling process

Colombian coffee beans are dried under the sun for a few days or until the water amount gets to about 10 percent. This helps in the bean’s drying & prepares it for hulling. Sumatran coffee stays a lot less time in the sunshine. Sumatran coffee is hulled with substantially higher water amount, at times as high as twenty percent.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.
