FAQs

Colombian Coffee exhibits a mild acidity & a robust caramel sweetness, possibly with a nutty undertone, similar to good quality Peruvian coffee beans. Colombian coffee beans have the most distinct coffee taste in North America, being sweet & medium bodied.

It is possible to make strong Colombian coffee in comparison to other coffee types. The strength of the coffee can be altered by the processing, roasting and brewing process. Thus, Colombian coffee is just stronger if it is made to be stronger.  Increased proportions of low quality beans make a bitter brew, but Colombian coffee keeps its flavour integrity even when pushed via more rigorous & vigorous brewing processes.

These beans make a taste that is smooth, balanced, and light in body. There are also overtones of fruit, almonds, & dark chocolate in the flavour profile.

Colombian coffee is among one the finest anywhere. Colombia has a long history of cultivating Arabica coffee, and their specific topography makes it ideal for producing a delicious, high-quality drink. The coffee is renowned worldwide for its flavour & the distinct mild but rich aroma that rises from each brew. This may explain why they have been producing coffee for ~200 years, and it’s been their biggest export for the majority of that period.

Most people regard Costa Rican coffee as the best in Central America. Elevation classes are given to Costa Rican beans, with the best rated beans cultivated at the highest altitude. These beans are called strictly hard beans”.

In a small saucepan, boil water and panela. Panela is a product that is produced from sugarcane, it is sweet and brown, is sold in blocks or grated & the flavour is like that of brown sugar. Decrease heat to low & simmer for 30 minutes, occasionally stirring to melt panela.

In a tiny French press, put the ground coffee. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it gets to the brim of the French press.

Brew for four minutes, stirring once during the time. Push down the French press & pour the coffee straight away.

Colombian coffee is most suited for a dark roast.  This due to the fuller, floral flavour, however light roasts made from Colombian beans are just as tasty. While keeping the bean’s flavour, cocoa & caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The flavours & aromas of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s producing conditions and processes make it thought to be the best by many people, especially because of its distinct flavour. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce tasty coffee with great quality at higher elevations. They are then processed natually on little farms by hand. The higher altitude makes for a nicer flavoured bean. Because of its favourable meteorological attributes, Colombian coffee is a rich, somewhat fruity, & chocolaty taste.

The caffeine content of Colombian coffee is similar to that of other coffee types. The caffeine content of a dark roast coffee is slightly higher than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is small and may go unnoticed. Depending on the sub-variety and amount of roasting, top quality Colombian Arabica coffee has 30-50 milligrams per each espresso serving & up to 200 mg in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian coffee beans are among the most well-known and popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied taste that is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more praised for their robust & balanced tastes than for their particular flavour profile. Guatemala coffee is also very good coffee.

    • The hulling proceedure

Colombian coffee beans are dried under the sun for a few days or until the water amount gets to around 10 percent. This helps in the bean’s drying & prepares it for hulling. Sumatran coffee spends a lot less time in the sunshine. Sumatran coffee is hulled with substantially greater moisture content, at times as much as 20%.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.
