FAQs

Colombian Coffee provides a mild acidity & a robust caramel sweetness, occationally with a nutty undertone, similar to good quality Peruvian coffees. Colombian coffee beans have the most identifiable coffee taste in North America, that of sweet and medium bodied.

It is possible to make strong Colombian coffee compared to other coffee. The strength of the coffee is determined by the processing, roasting & brewing methods. Thus, Colombian coffee is only stronger if it is prepared to be strong.  Higher proportions of lower-quality beans produce a bitter brew, yet Colombian coffee keeps its taste profile even when pushed via more rigorous & vigorous brewing processes.

These coffee beans provide a flavour that is smooth, balanced, and light in body. There can be also overtones of fruit, almonds, & dark chocolate in the taste profile.

Colombian coffee is among one the finest on the globe. Colombia has a long history of producing Arabica coffee beans, and the country’s specific topography makes it ideal for making a tastey, high quality coffee bean. The coffee is known worldwide for its taste & the distinct mild but rich aroma that comes from each brew. That may explain why they have been producing coffee for ~200 years, & it’s been their biggest export for most of that period.

Many people regard Costa Rican coffee as the top one in Central America. Elevation ratings are assigned to Costa Rican beans, with the best rated beans cultivated at the highest altitude. These beans are called “strictly firm beans”.

In a little saucepan, bring water and panela to a boil. Panela is a product that is made from sugarcane, it is sweet & brown, is marketed in blocks or grated and the flavour is similar to that of brown sugar. Reduce heat to low & simmer for 30 min, occasionally stirring to melt panela.

In a little French press, place the ground coffee. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it gets to the brim of the French press.

allow it to stand for four min, stirring once during the time. Push down the French press & pour the coffee straight away.

Colombian coffee beans are most suited for a dark roast.  This because of the fuller, floral taste, however light roasts made from Colombian beans are just as flavourful. While keeping the bean’s taste, cocoa & caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The tastes and aromas of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s producing conditions and processes make it thought to be the best by many people, particually because of its distinct taste. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce tasty coffee with outstanding quality at high altitudes. They are then naturally prepared on small farms by hand. The higher elevation produces a better tasting coffee bean. Because of its favourable meteorological characteristics, Colombian coffee beans are a rich, somewhat fruity, and chocolaty flavour.

The caffeine concentration of Colombian coffee is comparable to that of other coffee types. The caffeine content of a dark roast coffee is a little bit more than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is small and may not be noticable. Depending on the sub-variety and degree of roasting, high quality Colombian Arabica coffee has 30-50 milligrams per single espresso serving and up to 200 milligrams in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian coffee beans are among the most renound and popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied flavour that is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more praised for their robust and balanced flavours than for their particular taste profile. Guatemala coffee is also very good coffee.

    • The hulling proceedure

Colombian coffee beans are dried under the sun over a few days or until the moisture amount reaches around ten%. This helps in the bean’s drying & preps it for hulling. Sumatran coffee stays a lot less time in the sun. Sumatran coffee is hulled with substantially higher moisture amount, sometimes as much as 20%.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.

The Colombian coffee region, is named the Coffee Triangle. It is a part of the Colombian Paisa region in the regional area of Colombia. It is famous for producing the majority of Colombian coffee.
