FAQs

Colombian Coffee provides a mild acidity and a robust caramel sweetness, often with a nutty undertone, similar to higher-quality Peruvian coffee beans. Colombian coffee beans have the most identifiable coffee flavour in North America, being sweet and medium-bodied.

It is possible to make strong Colombian coffee in comparison to other coffee types. The strength of the coffee will depend on the processing, roasting & brewing process. Thus, Colombian coffee is just strong if it is made to be strong.  Increased proportions of low quality beans result in a bitter coffee, yet Colombian coffee maintains its flavour profile even when pushed via more rigorous and vigorous brewing processes.

Colombian beans provide a taste that is smooth, balanced, and light in body. There can be also overtones of fruit, almonds, and dark chocolate in the flavour profile.

Colombian coffee is among one the best on the globe. Colombia has a long history of cultivating Arabica coffee, and the country’s particular topography makes it perfect for producing a delicious, high quality beverage. The coffee is known worldwide for its taste & the destinctive mild but rich aroma which rises from each brew. This may explain why they have been producing coffee for ~200 years, & it’s been their leading export for the majority of that time.

Most people regard Costa Rican coffee as the top one in Central America. Altitude classes are assigned to Costa Rican beans, with the best rated beans produced at the highest altitude. These beans are referred to as “strictly firm beans”.

In a small saucepan, bring water & panela to a boil. Panela is a product that is produced from sugarcane, it is sweet and brown, is sold in blocks or grated & the flavour is similar to that of brown sugar. Decrease heat to low & cook for 30 minutes, stir occationally to melt panela.

In a little French press, put the ground beans. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it reaches the top of the French press.

allow it to stand for 4 min, stirring only once. Push down the French press & pour the coffee right away.

Colombian coffee is most suited for a dark roast.  This due to the fuller, floral flavour, however light roasts made from Colombian beans are just as delicious. While retaining the bean’s taste, cocoa and caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The flavours & aromas of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s cultivating conditions and processes make it thought to be the best by many people, particually due to its distinct taste. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce tasty coffee with outstanding quality at high altitudes. They are then naturally prepared on little farms by hand. The higher elevation makes for a nicer flavoured bean. Due to its favourable meteorological conditions, Colombian coffee beans are a rich, somewhat fruity, & chocolaty taste.

The caffeine concentration of Colombian coffee is similar to that of other coffee types. The caffeine content of a dark roast coffee is a little bit greater than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is small and may go unnoticed. Depending on the sub-variety & amount of roasting, high-quality Colombian Arabica coffee has 30-50 mg per single espresso serving & up to 200 milligrams in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian coffee beans are among the most renound & popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied taste which is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more known for their robust and balanced flavours than for their particular flavour profile. Guatemala coffee is also very good coffee.

    • The hulling process

Colombian coffee beans are dried benith the sun over a few days or until the moisture amount reaches about ten percent. This aids in the bean’s drying & preps it for hulling. Sumatran coffee spends a lot less time in the sun. Sumatran coffee is hulled with substantially greater moisture content, at times as much as 20%.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.
