FAQs

Colombian Coffee provides a mild acidity and a robust caramel sweetness, sometimes with a nutty undertone, similar to good quality Peruvian coffee beans. Colombian coffee beans have the most well known coffee flavour in North America, being sweet & medium bodied.

It is possible to make strong Colombian coffee in comparison to non-Colombian coffee. The strength of the coffee can be altered by the processing, roasting & brewing process. Therefore, Colombian coffee is only strong if it is prepared to be stronger.  Increased proportions of lower-quality beans produce a bitter brew, but Colombian coffee keeps its flavour profile even when pushed via more rigorous and vigorous brewing processes.

Colombian beans make a cup that is smooth, balanced, & light in body. There can be also overtones of fruit, almonds, and dark chocolate in the taste profile.

Colombian coffee is among one the finest anywhere. Colombia has a long history of farming Arabica coffee, & their particular topography makes it perfect for making a delicious, top quality beverage. The coffee is renowned accross the globe for its taste and the distinct mild but rich aroma that comes from each cup. That may explain why they have been producing coffee for ~200 years, and it’s been their biggest export for the majority of that period.

Many people regard Costa Rican coffee as the top one in Central America. Altitude classes are assigned to Costa Rican beans, with the best rated beans produced at the highest altitude. These beans are called “strictly high grown”.

In a small pot, bring water and panela to a boil. Panela is a product that is produced with sugarcane, it is sweet & brown, is sold in blocks or grated and the taste is like that of brown sugar. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes, stir occationally to melt panela.

In a small French press, place the ground beans. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it gets to the brim of the French press.

Brew for 4 min, stirring once during the time. Push down the French press and pour the coffee right away.

Colombian coffee is most suited for a dark roast.  This because of the fuller, floral flavour, however light roasts made from Colombian beans are equally delicious. While keeping the bean’s taste, cocoa and caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The flavours and smells of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s producing conditions & processes make it thought to be the best by a lot of people, especially due to its distinct taste. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce tasty coffee with outstanding quality at high elevations. They are then processed natually on small farms by hand. The higher elevation makes for a nicer flavoured coffee bean. Because of its favourable meteorological attributes, Colombian coffee beans are a rich, somewhat fruity, & chocolaty taste.

The caffeine content of Colombian coffee is comparable to that of other coffees. The caffeine content of a dark roast coffee is a little bit higher than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is small & may not be noticable. Depending on the sub-variety and amount of roasting, high quality Colombian Arabica coffee contains 30-50 milligrams per each espresso serving & up to 200 milligrams in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian beans are among the most well-known & popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied flavour which is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more known for their robust and balanced flavours than for their particular flavour profile. Guatemala coffee is also quite good coffee.

    • The hulling proceedure

Colombian coffee beans are dried under the sun for a few days or until the water content gets to around ten percent. This aids in the bean’s drying and prepares it for hulling. Sumatran coffee stays far less time in the sun. Sumatran coffee is hulled with substantially higher moisture amount, at times as high as 20%.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.
