FAQs

Colombian Coffee provides a mild acidity and a robust caramel sweetness, possibly with a nutty undertone, similar to high quality Peruvian coffees. They have the most well known coffee taste in North America, being sweet and medium bodied.

It is possible to produce stronger Colombian coffee in comparison to other coffee. The strength of the coffee will depend on the processing, roasting & brewing process. Thus, Colombian coffee is only strong if it is prepared to be strong.  Increased proportions of lower quality beans make a bitter brew, but Colombian coffee keeps its flavour integrity even when pushed via more rigorous & vigorous brewing methods.

These beans provide a drink that is smooth, balanced, and light in body. There are also overtones of fruit, almonds, & dark chocolate in the flavour profile.

Colombian coffee beans are among one the best in the world. Colombia has a long history of culturing Arabica beans, & the country’s specific topography makes it ideal for producing a delicious, high quality brew. The coffee is known worldwide for its taste and the distinct mild but rich aroma which rises from each cup. This may explain why they have been producing coffee for about 200 years, & it’s been their highest export for the majority of that period.

Most people consider Costa Rican coffee as the best in Central America. Altitude classes are assigned to Costa Rican beans, with the highest rated beans cultivated at the highest altitude. These beans are referred to as “strictly firm beans”.

In a little pot, boil water and panela. Panela is a product that is made with sugarcane, it is sweet & brown, is sold in blocks or grated and the flavour is similar to that of brown sugar. Reduce heat to low and cook for 30 min, stir occationally to melt panela.

In a small French press, place the ground beans. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it gets to the top of the French press.

Brew for four min, stirring only once. Push down the French press & pour the coffee right away.

Colombian coffee beans are best as a dark roast.  This because of the fuller, floral taste, but light roasts made from Colombian beans are equally flavourful. While keeping the bean’s taste, cocoa & caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The flavours & smells of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s growing conditions and processes make it considered to be the best by a lot of people, especially because of its distinct flavour. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce tasty coffee with excellent quality at high elevations. They are then processed natually on little farms by hand. The higher altitude produces a better flavoured bean. Due to its favourable meteorological attributes, Colombian coffee beans are a rich, somewhat fruity, and chocolaty flavour.

The caffeine content of Colombian coffee is similar to that of other coffee varieties. The caffeine content of a dark roast coffee is a little bit greater than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is minor & may go unnoticed. Depending on the sub-variety and degree of roasting, top quality Colombian Arabica coffee has 30-50 milligrams per each espresso serving & up to 200 milligrams in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian beans are among the most renound & popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied taste which is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more praised for their robust & balanced flavours than for their particular flavour profile. Guatemala coffee is also very tasty coffee.

    • The hulling process

Colombian coffee beans are dried benith the sun over a few days or until the water amount reaches around 10%. This aids in the bean’s drying & prepares it for hulling. Sumatran coffee spends a lot less time in the sun. Sumatran coffee is hulled with significantly greater moisture content, at times as high as 20 percent.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.

The Colombian coffee region, is called the Coffee Triangle. It is a part of the Colombian Paisa region in the regional area of Colombia. It is renound for producing the most of Colombian coffee.
