FAQs

Colombian Coffee has a mild acidity and a robust caramel sweetness, sometimes with a nutty undertone, similar to high quality Peruvian coffee. Colombian coffee beans have the most distinct coffee taste in North America, being sweet & medium-bodied.

It is possible to produce strong Colombian coffee in comparison to other coffee types. The strength of the coffee can be altered by the processing, roasting & brewing methods. Thus, Colombian coffee is only strong if it is made to be stronger.  Higher percentage of lower-quality beans produce a bitter coffee, but Colombian coffee keeps its flavour integrity even when pushed via more rigorous & vigorous brewing processes.

Colombian coffee beans produce a taste that is smooth, balanced, & light in body. There can be also overtones of fruit, almonds, & dark chocolate in the taste profile.

Colombian coffee is among one the best anywhere. Colombia has a long history of producing Arabica beans, & the country’s specific topography makes it ideal for making a tastey, top quality coffee bean. The coffee is renowned accross the globe for its flavour & the destinctive mild but rich aroma that rises from each cup. This may explain why they have been exporting coffee for about 200 years, & it’s been their biggest export for the majority of that time.

Many people consider Costa Rican coffee as the top one in Central America. Elevation ratings are assigned to Costa Rican beans, with the highest-rated beans farmed at the highest elevation. These beans are called strictly hard beans”.

In a small saucepan, boil water and panela. Panela is a product that is made with sugarcane, it is sweet & brown, is sold in blocks or grated and the taste is similar to that of brown sugar. Decrease heat to low & cook for 30 min, occasionally stirring to melt panela.

In a tiny French press, place the ground coffee beans. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it reaches the brim of the French press.

Brew for 4 minutes, stirring only once. Plunge the French press and pour the coffee straight away.

Colombian coffee is most suited for a dark roast.  This due to the fuller, floral taste, however light roasts made from Colombian beans are equally tasty. While keeping the bean’s taste, cocoa and caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The tastes & aromas of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s cultivating conditions and processes make it considered to be the best by a lot of people, especially because of its distinct flavour. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce tasty coffee with great quality at high altitudes. They are then prepared natually on little farms by hand. The high elevation produces a better flavoured coffee bean. Due to its favourable climatic attributes, Colombia coffee is a rich, somewhat fruity, & chocolaty taste.

The caffeine content of Colombian coffee is similar to that of other coffee beans. The caffeine content of a dark roast coffee is a little bit greater than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is small and may go unnoticed. Depending on the sub-variety & amount of roasting, high-quality Colombian Arabica coffee has 30-50 mg per single espresso serving and up to 200 milligrams in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian beans are among the most well-known and popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied taste that is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more praised for their robust & balanced flavours than for their particular flavour profile. Guatemala coffee is also very good coffee.

    • The hulling proceedure

Colombian coffee beans are dried benith the sun for a few days or until the water content gets to around ten%. This helps in the bean’s drying and prepares it for hulling. Sumatran coffee spends a lot less time in the sunshine. Sumatran coffee is hulled with substantially greater moisture amount, at times as much as 20%.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.
