FAQs

Colombian Coffee exhibits a mild acidity & a robust caramel sweetness, possibly with a nutty undertone, similar to good quality Peruvian beans. They have the most identifiable coffee taste in North America, being sweet & medium-bodied.

It is possible to make stronger Colombian coffee compared to other coffee types. The strength of the coffee will depend on the processing, roasting and brewing methods. Thus, Colombian coffee is just strong if it is prepared to be stronger.  Increased proportions of lower quality beans make a bitter coffee, yet Colombian coffee keeps its taste profile even when pushed via more rigorous & vigorous brewing methods.

Colombian beans provide a cup that is smooth, balanced, & light in body. There can be also overtones of fruit, almonds, and dark chocolate in the flavour profile.

Colombian coffee beans are among one the finest on the globe. Colombia has a long history of cultivating Arabica beans, & the country’s specific topography makes it perfect for making a tastey, top quality beverage. The coffee is known worldwide for its flavour & the distinct mild but rich aroma that rises from each brew. That could explain why they have been growing coffee for about 200 years, and it’s been their leading export for the majority of that time.

Many people consider Costa Rican coffee as the best in Central America. Altitude classes are given to Costa Rican beans, with the highest rated beans cultivated at the highest elevation. These beans are called “strictly high grown”.

In a little saucepan, bring water and panela to a boil. Panela is a product that is produced with sugarcane, it is sweet & brown, is marketed in blocks or grated and the taste is like that of brown sugar. Reduce heat to low and cook for 30 min, occasionally stirring to melt panela.

In a tiny French press, put the ground coffee. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it reaches the top of the French press.

Brew for four minutes, stirring once during the time. Plunge the French press and pour the coffee straight away.

Colombian coffee beans are most suited for a dark roast.  This as a result of the fuller, floral taste, but light roasts made from Colombian beans are just as tasty. While keeping the bean’s flavour, cocoa & caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The flavours and smells of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s growing conditions and processes make it considered to be the best by a lot of people, especially due to its distinct flavour. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce flavourful coffee with outstanding quality at higher altitudes. They are then naturally processed on small farms by hand. The high altitude makes for a better flavoured bean. Because of its favourable climatic conditions, Colombia coffee is a rich, somewhat fruity, and chocolaty taste.

The caffeine content of Colombian coffee is similar to that of other coffee types. The caffeine concentration of a dark roast coffee is a little bit more than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is small & may go unnoticed. Depending on the sub-variety and amount of roasting, high-quality Colombian Arabica coffee contains 30-50 milligrams per each espresso serving and up to 200 mg in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian beans are among the most well-known and popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied taste which is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more known for their robust and balanced flavours than for their particular flavour profile. Guatemala coffee is also very good coffee.

    • The hulling proceedure

Colombian coffee beans are dried under the sun over a few days or until the water amount gets to about ten percent. This aids in the bean’s drying & prepares it for hulling. Sumatran coffee spends far less time in the sun. Sumatran coffee is hulled with significantly higher moisture amount, at times as high as 20 percent.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.
