FAQs

Colombian Coffee exhibits a mild acidity and a robust caramel sweetness, sometimes with a nutty undertone, similar to higher-quality Peruvian beans. Colombian coffee beans have the most well known coffee flavour in North America, being sweet & medium bodied.

It is possible to produce strong Colombian coffee in comparison to other coffee types. The strength of the coffee is determined by the processing, roasting & brewing process. Therefore, Colombian coffee is only stronger if it is made to be stronger.  Higher proportions of lower-quality beans produce a bitter coffee, but Colombian coffee keeps its flavour integrity even when pushed via more rigorous and vigorous brewing methods.

These beans produce a cup that is smooth, balanced, & light in body. There are also overtones of fruit, almonds, & dark chocolate in the flavour profile.

Colombian coffee beans are among one the finest anywhere. Colombia has a long history of growing Arabica coffee beans, and their particular topography makes it ideal for producing a delicious, high quality beverage. The coffee is known accross the world for its taste and the destinctive mild but rich aroma that comes from each cup. That may explain why they have been producing coffee for ~200 years, and it’s been their biggest export for the majority of that period.

Many people consider Costa Rican coffee as the top one in Central America. Altitude classes are given to Costa Rican beans, with the best rated beans cultivated at the greatest altitude. These beans are referred to as “strictly firm beans”.

In a small saucepan, boil water and panela. Panela is a product that is made with sugarcane, it is sweet & brown, is marketed in blocks or grated & the flavour is similar to that of brown sugar. Decrease heat to low & simmer for 30 minutes, occasionally stirring to melt panela.

In a small French press, place the ground beans. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it gets to the top of the French press.

Brew for four min, stirring only once. Push down the French press & pour the coffee straight away.

Colombian coffee beans are most suited for a dark roast.  This due to the fuller, floral flavour, however light roasts made from Colombian beans are equally delicious. While keeping the bean’s flavour, cocoa and caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The tastes & smells of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s farming conditions and processes make it considered to be the best by many people, especially due to its distinct flavour. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce tasty coffee with great quality at higher altitudes. They are then processed natually on little farms by hand. The high altitude makes for a better flavoured bean. Because of its favourable meteorological characteristics, Colombian coffee is a rich, somewhat fruity, & chocolaty taste.

The caffeine content of Colombian coffee is similar to that of other coffee varieties. The caffeine content of a dark roast coffee is a little bit greater than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is minor and may not be noticable. Depending on the sub-variety and amount of roasting, top quality Colombian Arabica coffee contains 30-50 mg per single espresso serving & up to 200 milligrams in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian coffee beans are among the most renound and popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied taste that is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more known for their robust and balanced tastes than for their particular taste profile. Guatemala coffee is also very tasty coffee.

    • The hulling proceedure

Colombian coffee beans are dried under the sun for a few days or until the moisture amount gets to around ten%. This helps in the bean’s drying & preps it for hulling. Sumatran coffee stays far less time in the sun. Sumatran coffee is hulled with a lot greater moisture amount, at times as high as 20 percent.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.
