FAQs

Colombian Coffee has a mild acidity and a robust caramel sweetness, occationally with a nutty undertone, similar to good quality Peruvian beans. Colombian coffee beans have the most well known coffee taste in North America, being sweet and medium-bodied.

It is possible to produce stronger Colombian coffee in comparison to non-Colombian coffee. The strength of the coffee can be altered by the processing, roasting and brewing methods. Thus, Colombian coffee is just stronger if it is made to be stronger.  Higher proportions of lower quality beans result in a bitter brew, yet Colombian coffee keeps its taste integrity even when pushed via more rigorous & vigorous brewing processes.

These coffee beans produce a cup that is smooth, balanced, and light in body. There can be also overtones of fruit, almonds, and dark chocolate in the flavour profile.

Colombian coffee beans are among one the best in the world. Colombia has a long history of cultivating Arabica coffee beans, and the country’s particular topography makes it perfect for making a delicious, top quality brew. The coffee is known accross the globe for its taste and the destinctive mild but rich aroma that rises from each brew. This may explain why they have been cultivating coffee for ~200 years, & it’s been their highest export for most of that period.

Most people regard Costa Rican coffee as the top one in Central America. Altitude classes are assigned to Costa Rican beans, with the highest-rated beans cultivated at the greatest altitude. These beans are called “strictly firm beans”.

In a little saucepan, boil water and panela. Panela is a product that is made with sugarcane, it is sweet & brown, is marketed in blocks or grated and the taste is similar to that of brown sugar. Decrease heat to low and cook for 30 minutes, stir occationally to melt panela.

In a tiny French press, put the ground coffee. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it gets to the brim of the French press.

Brew for 4 minutes, stirring once during the time. Push down the French press and pour the coffee right away.

Colombian coffee beans are most suited for a dark roast.  This due to the fuller, floral taste, but light roasts made from Colombian beans are equally tasty. While retaining the bean’s flavour, cocoa & caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The tastes and aromas of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s growing conditions & processes make it thought to be the best by many people, especially due to its distinct flavour. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce tasty coffee with great quality at higher altitudes. They are then prepared natually on little farms by hand. The higher elevation produces a better flavoured bean. Due to its favourable climatic conditions, Colombian coffee beans are a rich, somewhat fruity, & chocolaty flavour.

The caffeine concentration of Colombian coffee is similar to that of other coffee beans. The caffeine content of a dark roast coffee is a little bit greater than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is minor and may not be noticable. Depending on the sub-variety and degree of roasting, high quality Colombian Arabica coffee contains 30-50 milligrams per single espresso serving & up to 200 mg in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian beans are among the most well-known and popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied taste that is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more praised for their robust and balanced flavours than for their particular taste profile. Guatemala coffee is also very good coffee.

    • The hulling process

Colombian coffee beans are dried benith the sun over a few days or until the water content gets to about 10%. This helps in the bean’s drying and preps it for hulling. Sumatran coffee stays a lot less time in the sun. Sumatran coffee is hulled with significantly greater moisture amount, at times as much as 20%.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.
