FAQs

Colombian Coffee exhibits a mild acidity & a robust caramel sweetness, often with a nutty undertone, similar to good quality Peruvian coffee beans. They have the most well known coffee flavour in North America, that of sweet & medium bodied.

It is possible to produce strong Colombian coffee compared to other coffee. The strength of the coffee is determined by the processing, roasting and brewing process. Thus, Colombian coffee is just stronger if it is prepared to be stronger.  Increased percentage of low quality beans produce a bitter brew, but Colombian coffee maintains its flavour integrity even when pushed via more rigorous & vigorous brewing methods.

Colombian coffee beans produce a drink that is smooth, balanced, & light in body. There can be also overtones of fruit, almonds, & dark chocolate in the taste profile.

Colombian coffee is among one the finest on the globe. Colombia has a long history of farming Arabica beans, and their particular topography makes it perfect for making a tastey, high-quality brew. The coffee is known accross the world for its taste and the distinct mild but rich aroma which rises from each cup. This could explain why they have been exporting coffee for about 200 years, and it’s been their biggest export for most of that time.

Most people regard Costa Rican coffee as the top one in Central America. Altitude classes are assigned to Costa Rican beans, with the highest rated beans produced at the greatest altitude. These beans are called “strictly firm beans”.

In a little pot, bring water and panela to a boil. Panela is a product that is made with sugarcane, it is sweet & brown, is sold in blocks or grated and the flavour is like that of brown sugar. Decrease heat to low & simmer for 30 min, stir occationally to melt panela.

In a tiny French press, put the ground coffee beans. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it gets to the brim of the French press.

Brew for 4 minutes, stirring once during the time. Plunge the French press & pour the coffee right away.

Colombian coffee is most suited for a dark roast.  This due to the fuller, floral taste, however light roasts made from Colombian beans are just as delicious. While retaining the bean’s taste, cocoa & caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The flavours and aromas of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s producing conditions and processes make it considered to be the best by many people, particually due to its distinct taste. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce tasty coffee with outstanding quality at higher altitudes. They are then naturally processed on little farms by hand. The higher elevation produces a better tasting coffee bean. Because of its favourable meteorological characteristics, Colombian coffee is a rich, somewhat fruity, & chocolaty taste.

The caffeine content of Colombian coffee is similar to that of other coffee types. The caffeine concentration of a dark roast coffee is a little bit greater than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is small & may not be noticable. Depending on the sub-variety and amount of roasting, high quality Colombian Arabica coffee contains 30-50 milligrams per each espresso serving and up to 200 milligrams in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian coffee beans are among the most well-known and popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied flavour that is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more praised for their robust and balanced tastes than for their particular flavour profile. Guatemala coffee is also quite tasty coffee.

    • The hulling process

Colombian coffee beans are dried benith the sun over a few days or until the water amount reaches about 10 percent. This helps in the bean’s drying and preps it for hulling. Sumatran coffee spends a lot less time in the sun. Sumatran coffee is hulled with substantially greater water amount, sometimes as much as 20%.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.
