FAQs

Colombian Coffee exhibits a mild acidity & a robust caramel sweetness, sometimes with a nut undertone, similar to high quality Peruvian coffee. Colombian coffee beans have the most distinct coffee flavour in North America, that of sweet & medium-bodied.

It is possible to make strong Colombian coffee compared to non-Colombian coffee. The strength of the coffee can be altered by the processing, roasting and brewing methods. Therefore, Colombian coffee is only stronger if it is made to be strong.  Higher proportions of lower-quality beans result in a bitter brew, yet Colombian coffee keeps its flavour integrity even when pushed via more rigorous & vigorous brewing methods.

Colombian coffee beans make a cup that is smooth, balanced, & light in body. There are also overtones of fruit, almonds, and dark chocolate in the flavour profile.

Colombian coffee is among one the best anywhere. Colombia has a long history of cultivating Arabica coffee beans, & their specific topography makes it ideal for making a delicious, high quality beverage. The coffee is known worldwide for its taste and the destinctive mild but rich aroma that comes from each brew. That may explain why they have been growing coffee for about 200 years, & it’s been their highest export for the majority of that period.

Many people regard Costa Rican coffee as the top one in Central America. Altitude ratings are given to Costa Rican beans, with the highest rated beans grown at the greatest elevation. These beans are referred to as strictly hard beans”.

In a small pot, bring water and panela to a boil. Panela is a product that is made from sugarcane, it is sweet & brown, is sold in blocks or grated & the taste is like that of brown sugar. Decrease heat to low and cook for 30 minutes, stir occationally to melt panela.

In a little French press, put the ground coffee beans. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it gets to the brim of the French press.

allow it to stand for four min, stirring only once. Push down the French press & pour the coffee right away.

Colombian coffee is most suited for a dark roast.  This as a result of the fuller, floral flavour, however light roasts made from Colombian beans are equally tasty. While retaining the bean’s taste, cocoa & caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The tastes & smells of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s growing conditions and processes make it thought to be the best by many people, especially due to its distinct taste. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce tasty coffee with great quality at higher altitudes. They are then naturally processed on little farms by hand. The higher elevation produces a better flavoured bean. Due to its favourable meteorological conditions, Colombia coffee is a rich, somewhat fruity, and chocolaty flavour.

The caffeine content of Colombian coffee is similar to that of other coffee types. The caffeine concentration of a dark roast coffee is slightly greater than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is minor & may go unnoticed. Depending on the sub-variety and amount of roasting, high quality Colombian Arabica coffee contains 30-50 milligrams per single espresso serving and up to 200 mg in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian coffee beans are among the most well-known and popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied taste which is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more known for their robust and balanced flavours than for their particular flavour profile. Guatemala coffee is also quite good coffee.

    • The hulling process

Colombian coffee beans are dried benith the sun over a few days or until the moisture amount gets to around ten percent. This aids in the bean’s drying & prepares it for hulling. Sumatran coffee spends a lot less time in the sun. Sumatran coffee is hulled with substantially higher moisture amount, sometimes as high as twenty percent.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.
