FAQs

Colombian Coffee exhibits a mild acidity & a robust caramel sweetness, occationally with a nut undertone, similar to good quality Peruvian coffee beans. They have the most identifiable coffee flavour in North America, being sweet & medium-bodied.

It is possible to make stronger Colombian coffee in comparison to non-Colombian coffee types. The strength of the coffee is determined by the processing, roasting & brewing process. Therefore, Colombian coffee is only stronger if it is made to be stronger.  Increased proportions of low quality beans make a bitter coffee, yet Colombian coffee keeps its taste profile even when pushed via more rigorous & vigorous brewing processes.

Colombian beans produce a flavour that is smooth, balanced, & light in body. There are also overtones of fruit, almonds, & dark chocolate in the flavour profile.

Colombian coffee beans are among one the best in the world. Colombia has a long history of producing Arabica coffee beans, & their specific topography makes it perfect for making a delicious, high-quality bean. The coffee is known worldwide for its flavour and the distinct mild but rich aroma that rises from each brew. This could explain why they have been exporting coffee for ~200 years, & it’s been their highest export for the majority of that time.

Many people consider Costa Rican coffee as the best in Central America. Altitude ratings are given to Costa Rican beans, with the highest-rated beans cultivated at the highest altitude. These beans are referred to as “strictly high grown”.

In a little saucepan, bring water and panela to a boil. Panela is a product that is produced from sugarcane, it is sweet & brown, is sold in blocks or grated and the flavour is similar to that of brown sugar. Decrease heat to low & cook for 30 min, occasionally stirring to melt panela.

In a small French press, put the ground coffee. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it reaches the top of the French press.

Brew for four min, stirring only once. Push down the French press & pour the coffee right away.

Colombian coffee is most suited for a dark roast.  This due to the fuller, floral taste, but light roasts made from Colombian beans are just as flavourful. While retaining the bean’s taste, cocoa and caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The flavours & aromas of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s cultivating conditions & processes make it thought to be the best by many people, particually due to its distinct flavour. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce flavourful coffee with excellent quality at high altitudes. They are then processed natually on little farms by hand. The higher altitude produces a nicer flavoured bean. Due to its favourable climatic attributes, Colombian coffee is a rich, somewhat fruity, and chocolaty taste.

The caffeine concentration of Colombian coffee is comparable to that of other coffee beans. The caffeine content of a dark roast coffee is a little bit greater than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is small & may go unnoticed. Depending on the sub-variety and amount of roasting, high-quality Colombian Arabica coffee has 30-50 mg per each espresso serving & up to 200 mg in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian beans are among the most renound & popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied flavour that is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more praised for their robust & balanced tastes than for their particular taste profile. Guatemala coffee is also very tasty coffee.

    • The hulling process

Colombian coffee beans are dried under the sun for a few days or until the water amount gets to around ten percent. This aids in the bean’s drying & prepares it for hulling. Sumatran coffee stays far less time in the sun. Sumatran coffee is hulled with significantly greater water content, at times as much as 20%.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.

The Colombian coffee region, is named the Coffee Triangle. It is a part of the Colombian Paisa area in the regional area of Colombia. It is famous for culturing the most of Colombian coffee.
