FAQs

Colombian Coffee exhibits a mild acidity & a robust caramel sweetness, often with a nut undertone, similar to good quality Peruvian coffee beans. Colombian coffee beans have the most well known coffee taste in North America, being sweet and medium bodied.

It is possible to make stronger Colombian coffee compared to other coffee. The strength of the coffee will depend on the processing, roasting and brewing process. Thus, Colombian coffee is just strong if it is made to be strong.  Higher amounts of low quality beans result in a bitter brew, yet Colombian coffee maintains its flavour profile even when pushed via more rigorous & vigorous brewing methods.

These coffee beans provide a flavour that is smooth, balanced, & light in body. There can be also overtones of fruit, almonds, and dark chocolate in the flavour profile.

Colombian coffee beans are among one the best on the globe. Colombia has a long history of growing Arabica coffee, & the country’s particular topography makes it ideal for producing a tastey, top quality beverage. The coffee is renowned accross the world for its taste & the destinctive mild but rich aroma that rises from each cup. That could explain why they have been exporting coffee for about 200 years, & it’s been their biggest export for the majority of that period.

Many people consider Costa Rican coffee as the best in Central America. Altitude classes are given to Costa Rican beans, with the best rated beans cultivated at the greatest altitude. These beans are known as “strictly high grown”.

In a small pot, bring water & panela to a boil. Panela is a product that is produced from sugarcane, it is sweet & brown, is sold in blocks or grated & the flavour is like that of brown sugar. Decrease heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes, occasionally stirring to melt panela.

In a tiny French press, place the ground coffee beans. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it reaches the brim of the French press.

Brew for four min, stirring once during the time. Push down the French press and pour the coffee right away.

Colombian coffee is most suited for a dark roast.  This as a result of the fuller, floral taste, but light roasts made from Colombian beans are just as tasty. While retaining the bean’s taste, cocoa & caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The flavours & smells of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s producing conditions and processes make it thought to be the best by many people, particually because of its distinct flavour. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce tasty coffee with great quality at higher elevations. They are then processed natually on little farms by hand. The high elevation produces a nicer tasting coffee bean. Due to its favourable meteorological attributes, Colombia coffee is a rich, somewhat fruity, & chocolaty flavour.

The caffeine content of Colombian coffee is comparable to that of other coffee types. The caffeine content of a dark roast coffee is a little bit higher than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is minor & may not be noticable. Depending on the sub-variety and degree of roasting, high quality Colombian Arabica coffee has 30-50 milligrams per each espresso serving & up to 200 milligrams in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian coffee beans are among the most well-known and popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied taste which is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more known for their robust and balanced tastes than for their particular flavour profile. Guatemala coffee is also very tasty coffee.

    • The hulling proceedure

Colombian coffee beans are dried under the sun over a few days or until the water content gets to about ten%. This helps in the bean’s drying and prepares it for hulling. Sumatran coffee spends a lot less time in the sun. Sumatran coffee is hulled with substantially higher water content, sometimes as much as 20 percent.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.

The Colombian coffee region, is called the Coffee Triangle. It is a part of the Colombian Paisa region in the rural area of Colombia. It is famous for producing the largest amount of Colombian coffee.
