FAQs

Colombian Coffee provides a mild acidity & a robust caramel sweetness, possibly with a nut undertone, similar to higher-quality Peruvian coffees. They have the most identifiable coffee taste in North America, that of sweet and medium-bodied.

It is possible to make stronger Colombian coffee in comparison to non-Colombian coffee types. The strength of the coffee is influenced by the processing, roasting & brewing methods. Therefore, Colombian coffee is only strong if it is made to be strong.  Higher percentage of lower quality beans result in a bitter brew, yet Colombian coffee keeps its flavour integrity even when pushed via more rigorous and vigorous brewing processes.

Colombian beans provide a cup that is smooth, balanced, & light in body. There are also overtones of fruit, almonds, & dark chocolate in the flavour profile.

Colombian coffee beans are among one the finest anywhere. Colombia has a long history of producing Arabica coffee, & their specific topography makes it ideal for making a delicious, high-quality coffee bean. The coffee is renowned worldwide for its taste and the distinct mild but rich aroma which comes from each cup. This could explain why they have been growing coffee for ~200 years, and it’s been their highest export for the majority of that time.

Many people consider Costa Rican coffee as the top one in Central America. Altitude ratings are given to Costa Rican beans, with the best rated beans grown at the highest altitude. These beans are known as “strictly firm beans”.

In a little saucepan, boil water and panela. Panela is a product that is produced with sugarcane, it is sweet and brown, is sold in blocks or grated and the taste is similar to that of brown sugar. Reduce heat to low and cook for 30 minutes, occasionally stirring to melt panela.

In a small French press, place the ground coffee beans. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it reaches the top of the French press.

allow it to stand for 4 min, stirring only once. Plunge the French press & pour the coffee straight away.

Colombian coffee is most suited for a dark roast.  This because of the fuller, floral flavour, but light roasts made from Colombian beans are equally delicious. While retaining the bean’s flavour, cocoa & caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The tastes & aromas of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s producing conditions & processes make it considered to be the best by a lot of people, particually because of its distinct taste. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce tasty coffee with outstanding quality at higher elevations. They are then processed natually on little farms by hand. The higher altitude produces a better flavoured bean. Because of its favourable meteorological attributes, Colombian coffee beans are a rich, somewhat fruity, & chocolaty taste.

The caffeine concentration of Colombian coffee is comparable to that of other coffee types. The caffeine content of a dark roast coffee is slightly more than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is minor & may not be noticable. Depending on the sub-variety & degree of roasting, high quality Colombian Arabica coffee contains 30-50 milligrams per each espresso serving & up to 200 milligrams in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian beans are among the most well-known & popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied flavour which is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more known for their robust and balanced tastes than for their particular taste profile. Guatemala coffee is also very tasty coffee.

    • The hulling process

Colombian coffee beans are dried under the sun over a few days or until the water amount gets to about 10%. This helps in the bean’s drying & prepares it for hulling. Sumatran coffee stays far less time in the sunshine. Sumatran coffee is hulled with significantly greater water content, at times as much as twenty percent.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.
