FAQs

Colombian Coffee has a mild acidity & a robust caramel sweetness, often with a nut undertone, similar to high quality Peruvian coffee. Colombian coffee beans have the most well known coffee flavour in North America, being sweet and medium bodied.

It is possible to produce strong Colombian coffee compared to other coffee types. The strength of the coffee is influenced by the processing, roasting & brewing process. Therefore, Colombian coffee is only stronger if it is prepared to be stronger.  Higher amounts of lower-quality beans make a bitter brew, yet Colombian coffee keeps its taste profile even when pushed via more rigorous & vigorous brewing processes.

Colombian beans produce a drink that is smooth, balanced, & light in body. There can be also overtones of fruit, almonds, & dark chocolate in the flavour profile.

Colombian coffee beans are among one the best anywhere. Colombia has a long history of farming Arabica coffee beans, & the country’s specific topography makes it ideal for producing a tastey, high quality bean. The coffee is known worldwide for its taste and the destinctive mild but rich aroma that comes from each brew. This could explain why they have been growing coffee for about 200 years, and it’s been their biggest export for most of that period.

Many people consider Costa Rican coffee as the best in Central America. Altitude ratings are assigned to Costa Rican beans, with the highest rated beans farmed at the greatest elevation. These beans are named strictly hard beans”.

In a small pot, bring water and panela to a boil. Panela is a product that is produced from sugarcane, it is sweet & brown, is sold in blocks or grated and the taste is like that of brown sugar. Decrease heat to low & simmer for 30 min, occasionally stirring to melt panela.

In a small French press, put the ground beans. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it reaches the top of the French press.

allow it to stand for four min, stirring only once. Plunge the French press and pour the coffee straight away.

Colombian coffee is most suited for a dark roast.  This as a result of the fuller, floral taste, however light roasts made from Colombian beans are just as delicious. While retaining the bean’s flavour, cocoa and caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The tastes & aromas of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s farming conditions and processes make it considered to be the best by many people, especially because of its distinct taste. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce flavourful coffee with excellent quality at higher elevations. They are then naturally prepared on little farms by hand. The high elevation makes for a better tasting bean. Because of its favourable meteorological attributes, Colombian coffee beans are a rich, somewhat fruity, & chocolaty flavour.

The caffeine concentration of Colombian coffee is similar to that of other coffees. The caffeine concentration of a dark roast coffee is slightly higher than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is small and may not be noticable. Depending on the sub-variety and amount of roasting, top quality Colombian Arabica coffee has 30-50 mg per single espresso serving and up to 200 milligrams in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian beans are among the most renound & popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied flavour which is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more known for their robust & balanced tastes than for their particular taste profile. Guatemala coffee is also very good coffee.

    • The hulling process

Colombian coffee beans are dried benith the sun for a few days or until the water amount reaches around ten percent. This helps in the bean’s drying & prepares it for hulling. Sumatran coffee spends far less time in the sun. Sumatran coffee is hulled with substantially higher moisture amount, at times as high as 20 percent.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.
