FAQs

Colombian Coffee has a mild acidity and a robust caramel sweetness, sometimes with a nutty undertone, similar to higher-quality Peruvian coffee. They have the most distinct coffee flavour in North America, being sweet & medium-bodied.

It is possible to make stronger Colombian coffee compared to non-Colombian coffee. The strength of the coffee will depend on the processing, roasting and brewing methods. Therefore, Colombian coffee is just strong if it is made to be stronger.  Increased proportions of lower-quality beans result in a bitter brew, yet Colombian coffee keeps its taste integrity even when pushed via more rigorous & vigorous brewing methods.

These coffee beans produce a flavour that is smooth, balanced, and light in body. There are also overtones of fruit, almonds, and dark chocolate in the taste profile.

Colombian coffee beans are among one the finest in the world. Colombia has a long history of producing Arabica coffee beans, and their particular topography makes it perfect for making a tastey, top quality bean. The coffee is known worldwide for its taste and the destinctive mild but rich aroma that comes from each cup. This may explain why they have been producing coffee for ~200 years, & it’s been their highest export for the majority of that period.

Most people regard Costa Rican coffee as the top one in Central America. Elevation classes are assigned to Costa Rican beans, with the highest-rated beans grown at the highest elevation. These beans are called “strictly firm beans”.

In a little pot, bring water and panela to a boil. Panela is a product that is made with sugarcane, it is sweet and brown, is sold in blocks or grated and the taste is like that of brown sugar. Decrease heat to low & cook for 30 minutes, occasionally stirring to melt panela.

In a tiny French press, put the ground coffee beans. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it reaches the top of the French press.

allow it to stand for 4 min, stirring only once. Push down the French press & pour the coffee right away.

Colombian coffee is most suited for a dark roast.  This as a result of the fuller, floral taste, but light roasts made from Colombian beans are equally tasty. While keeping the bean’s flavour, cocoa & caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The flavours and smells of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s cultivating conditions & processes make it thought to be the best by many people, particually because of its distinct flavour. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce flavourful coffee with excellent quality at high altitudes. They are then naturally prepared on little farms by hand. The higher altitude produces a nicer tasting coffee bean. Due to its favourable meteorological characteristics, Colombia coffee beans are a rich, somewhat fruity, and chocolaty flavour.

The caffeine content of Colombian coffee is similar to that of other coffee varieties. The caffeine concentration of a dark roast coffee is slightly greater than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is minor and may not be noticable. Depending on the sub-variety & degree of roasting, high quality Colombian Arabica coffee contains 30-50 mg per each espresso serving and up to 200 mg in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian beans are among the most well-known & popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied flavour which is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more known for their robust and balanced flavours than for their particular flavour profile. Guatemala coffee is also quite tasty coffee.

    • The hulling process

Colombian coffee beans are dried benith the sun for a few days or until the moisture content reaches about ten percent. This helps in the bean’s drying and preps it for hulling. Sumatran coffee stays a lot less time in the sun. Sumatran coffee is hulled with significantly greater moisture amount, sometimes as high as twenty percent.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.
