FAQs

Colombian Coffee exhibits a mild acidity and a robust caramel sweetness, occationally with a nutty undertone, similar to high quality Peruvian coffee beans. They have the most well known coffee flavour in North America, that of sweet & medium-bodied.

It is possible to produce strong Colombian coffee in comparison to other coffee types. The strength of the coffee can be altered by the processing, roasting and brewing methods. Therefore, Colombian coffee is only stronger if it is made to be strong.  Increased proportions of low quality beans produce a bitter brew, but Colombian coffee maintains its flavour profile even when pushed via more rigorous and vigorous brewing processes.

Colombian beans provide a cup that is smooth, balanced, and light in body. There are also overtones of fruit, almonds, & dark chocolate in the taste profile.

Colombian coffee is among one the finest on the globe. Colombia has a long history of cultivating Arabica coffee beans, & their specific topography makes it perfect for making a delicious, top quality coffee bean. The coffee is renowned accross the world for its flavour and the destinctive mild but rich aroma which rises from each brew. This could explain why they have been producing coffee for about 200 years, and it’s been their biggest export for the majority of that time.

Many people consider Costa Rican coffee as the top one in Central America. Elevation ratings are given to Costa Rican beans, with the highest-rated beans produced at the highest altitude. These beans are called “strictly high grown”.

In a small pot, bring water and panela to a boil. Panela is a product that is produced with sugarcane, it is sweet & brown, is sold in blocks or grated & the taste is like that of brown sugar. Reduce heat to low and cook for 30 minutes, occasionally stirring to melt panela.

In a little French press, put the ground coffee beans. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it gets to the brim of the French press.

allow it to stand for 4 minutes, stirring once during the time. Push down the French press & pour the coffee right away.

Colombian coffee is best as a dark roast.  This due to the fuller, floral flavour, however light roasts made from Colombian beans are just as delicious. While retaining the bean’s taste, cocoa and caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The flavours and smells of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s cultivating conditions & processes make it considered to be the best by many people, particually because of its distinct taste. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce tasty coffee with excellent quality at high elevations. They are then prepared natually on little farms by hand. The high elevation produces a better flavoured bean. Due to its favourable meteorological attributes, Colombia coffee beans are a rich, somewhat fruity, & chocolaty taste.

The caffeine concentration of Colombian coffee is comparable to that of other coffee varieties. The caffeine content of a dark roast coffee is a little bit more than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is small and may not be noticable. Depending on the sub-variety and degree of roasting, high-quality Colombian Arabica coffee has 30-50 milligrams per each espresso serving and up to 200 mg in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian beans are among the most renound and popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied flavour that is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more praised for their robust and balanced flavours than for their particular flavour profile. Guatemala coffee is also quite good coffee.

    • The hulling proceedure

Colombian coffee beans are dried under the sun for a few days or until the water content gets to about ten percent. This aids in the bean’s drying & prepares it for hulling. Sumatran coffee stays far less time in the sun. Sumatran coffee is hulled with a lot higher water amount, at times as much as twenty percent.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.

The Colombian coffee area, is named the Coffee Triangle. It is a part of the Colombian Paisa area in the regional area of Colombia. It is renound for culturing the largest amount of Colombian coffee.
