FAQs

Colombian Coffee provides a mild acidity & a robust caramel sweetness, occationally with a nutty undertone, similar to high quality Peruvian coffee beans. They have the most well known coffee taste in North America, being sweet and medium-bodied.

It is possible to produce strong Colombian coffee compared to non-Colombian coffee types. The strength of the coffee will depend on the processing, roasting and brewing process. Therefore, Colombian coffee is only strong if it is made to be strong.  Increased percentage of low quality beans result in a bitter brew, but Colombian coffee maintains its taste profile even when pushed via more rigorous and vigorous brewing methods.

These beans provide a drink that is smooth, balanced, & light in body. There can be also overtones of fruit, almonds, and dark chocolate in the flavour profile.

Colombian coffee beans are among one the finest on the globe. Colombia has a long history of cultivating Arabica beans, and their specific topography makes it ideal for producing a tastey, high quality beverage. The coffee is known worldwide for its flavour and the destinctive mild but rich aroma which rises from each cup. This could explain why they have been growing coffee for about 200 years, and it’s been their highest export for the majority of that time.

Most people regard Costa Rican coffee as the top one in Central America. Altitude classes are given to Costa Rican beans, with the best rated beans produced at the greatest altitude. These beans are referred to as “strictly firm beans”.

In a small saucepan, boil water and panela. Panela is a product that is produced from sugarcane, it is sweet and brown, is sold in blocks or grated & the flavour is like that of brown sugar. Decrease heat to low & cook for 30 min, stir occationally to melt panela.

In a little French press, put the ground coffee. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it reaches the brim of the French press.

Brew for 4 minutes, stirring once during the time. Push down the French press & pour the coffee straight away.

Colombian coffee is most suited for a dark roast.  This due to the fuller, floral flavour, however light roasts made from Colombian beans are equally delicious. While retaining the bean’s flavour, cocoa & caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The tastes & smells of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s growing conditions and processes make it thought to be the best by a lot of people, particually due to its distinct flavour. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce flavourful coffee with excellent quality at high elevations. They are then processed natually on little farms by hand. The high altitude makes for a nicer tasting bean. Due to its favourable meteorological attributes, Colombian coffee beans are a rich, somewhat fruity, and chocolaty taste.

The caffeine concentration of Colombian coffee is similar to that of other coffee beans. The caffeine concentration of a dark roast coffee is slightly greater than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is minor and may go unnoticed. Depending on the sub-variety and amount of roasting, high quality Colombian Arabica coffee has 30-50 mg per each espresso serving and up to 200 mg in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian beans are among the most renound and popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied taste that is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more praised for their robust & balanced flavours than for their particular flavour profile. Guatemala coffee is also very good coffee.

    • The hulling process

Colombian coffee beans are dried benith the sun for a few days or until the moisture content reaches around ten percent. This helps in the bean’s drying and preps it for hulling. Sumatran coffee spends far less time in the sunshine. Sumatran coffee is hulled with a lot greater water content, at times as high as twenty percent.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.
