FAQs

Colombian Coffee has a mild acidity and a robust caramel sweetness, sometimes with a nutty undertone, similar to good quality Peruvian coffees. Colombian coffee beans have the most well known coffee flavour in North America, that of sweet and medium-bodied.

It is possible to produce strong Colombian coffee in comparison to non-Colombian coffee. The strength of the coffee is determined by the processing, roasting and brewing process. Thus, Colombian coffee is only stronger if it is prepared to be strong.  Increased percentage of lower-quality beans produce a bitter coffee, yet Colombian coffee maintains its taste profile even when pushed via more rigorous & vigorous brewing methods.

These coffee beans produce a cup that is smooth, balanced, and light in body. There can be also overtones of fruit, almonds, and dark chocolate in the flavour profile.

Colombian coffee is among one the finest in the world. Colombia has a long history of cultivating Arabica coffee, & their particular topography makes it ideal for producing a delicious, high-quality coffee bean. The coffee is renowned accross the globe for its flavour & the distinct mild but rich aroma that rises from each cup. This may explain why they have been growing coffee for ~200 years, and it’s been their biggest export for the majority of that period.

Many people regard Costa Rican coffee as the top one in Central America. Altitude classes are given to Costa Rican beans, with the best rated beans cultivated at the highest altitude. These beans are called strictly hard beans”.

In a little pot, bring water and panela to a boil. Panela is a product that is made from sugarcane, it is sweet & brown, is sold in blocks or grated & the flavour is like that of brown sugar. Reduce heat to low and cook for 30 min, stir occationally to melt panela.

In a small French press, place the ground beans. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it gets to the brim of the French press.

allow it to stand for 4 min, stirring only once. Plunge the French press and pour the coffee straight away.

Colombian coffee beans are best as a dark roast.  This because of the fuller, floral flavour, however light roasts made from Colombian beans are equally flavourful. While keeping the bean’s flavour, cocoa & caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The flavours and aromas of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s farming conditions and processes make it considered to be the best by a lot of people, especially due to its distinct flavour. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce flavourful coffee with outstanding quality at high elevations. They are then prepared natually on small farms by hand. The high elevation produces a better tasting bean. Because of its favourable climatic attributes, Colombia coffee beans are a rich, somewhat fruity, & chocolaty taste.

The caffeine concentration of Colombian coffee is comparable to that of other coffee beans. The caffeine concentration of a dark roast coffee is a little bit more than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is minor and may go unnoticed. Depending on the sub-variety and degree of roasting, top quality Colombian Arabica coffee has 30-50 mg per single espresso serving & up to 200 milligrams in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian coffee beans are among the most renound & popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied taste that is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more known for their robust & balanced tastes than for their particular flavour profile. Guatemala coffee is also quite tasty coffee.

    • The hulling process

Colombian coffee beans are dried benith the sun over a few days or until the water amount reaches about 10 percent. This aids in the bean’s drying and prepares it for hulling. Sumatran coffee stays far less time in the sun. Sumatran coffee is hulled with substantially greater moisture content, sometimes as much as twenty percent.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.
