FAQs

Colombian Coffee exhibits a mild acidity & a robust caramel sweetness, occationally with a nutty undertone, similar to high quality Peruvian coffee. They have the most distinct coffee taste in North America, being sweet and medium bodied.

It is possible to make strong Colombian coffee in comparison to other coffee types. The strength of the coffee is determined by the processing, roasting & brewing methods. Thus, Colombian coffee is just strong if it is prepared to be stronger.  Increased percentage of low quality beans result in a bitter coffee, but Colombian coffee maintains its flavour profile even when pushed via more rigorous & vigorous brewing methods.

Colombian coffee beans produce a flavour that is smooth, balanced, & light in body. There are also overtones of fruit, almonds, & dark chocolate in the flavour profile.

Colombian coffee beans are among one the finest anywhere. Colombia has a long history of cultivating Arabica coffee beans, & their particular topography makes it ideal for producing a tastey, high-quality beverage. The coffee is known worldwide for its taste and the destinctive mild but rich aroma that rises from each cup. That could explain why they have been cultivating coffee for ~200 years, & it’s been their biggest export for most of that period.

Most people regard Costa Rican coffee as the top one in Central America. Elevation classes are assigned to Costa Rican beans, with the highest rated beans produced at the greatest elevation. These beans are called “strictly firm beans”.

In a small pot, boil water and panela. Panela is a product that is made with sugarcane, it is sweet and brown, is sold in blocks or grated and the taste is similar to that of brown sugar. Decrease heat to low and cook for 30 minutes, stir occationally to melt panela.

In a small French press, place the ground coffee beans. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it gets to the top of the French press.

Brew for four min, stirring only once. Plunge the French press & pour the coffee straight away.

Colombian coffee beans are most suited for a dark roast.  This because of the fuller, floral flavour, but light roasts made from Colombian beans are just as flavourful. While keeping the bean’s taste, cocoa and caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The flavours and smells of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s producing conditions & processes make it considered to be the best by a lot of people, particually due to its distinct flavour. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce tasty coffee with excellent quality at higher altitudes. They are then naturally prepared on small farms by hand. The high elevation makes for a nicer tasting coffee bean. Because of its favourable climatic conditions, Colombian coffee is a rich, somewhat fruity, and chocolaty taste.

The caffeine concentration of Colombian coffee is similar to that of other coffees. The caffeine concentration of a dark roast coffee is a little bit higher than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is minor & may not be noticable. Depending on the sub-variety and amount of roasting, high quality Colombian Arabica coffee has 30-50 milligrams per each espresso serving and up to 200 mg in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian coffee beans are among the most renound & popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied taste which is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more praised for their robust and balanced flavours than for their particular flavour profile. Guatemala coffee is also very tasty coffee.

    • The hulling proceedure

Colombian coffee beans are dried under the sun over a few days or until the moisture amount reaches about 10 percent. This helps in the bean’s drying & preps it for hulling. Sumatran coffee spends a lot less time in the sun. Sumatran coffee is hulled with significantly greater water content, at times as much as 20 percent.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.
