In a little saucepan, bring water & panela to a boil. Panela is a product that is made from sugarcane, it is sweet and brown, is marketed in blocks or grated and the flavour is similar to that of brown sugar. Reduce heat to low & simmer for 30 min, occasionally stirring to melt panela.

- The hulling process
