FAQs

Colombian Coffee has a mild acidity & a robust caramel sweetness, often with a nutty undertone, similar to higher-quality Peruvian coffee. Colombian coffee beans have the most identifiable coffee taste in North America, being sweet & medium-bodied.

It is possible to produce strong Colombian coffee compared to non-Colombian coffee. The strength of the coffee can be altered by the processing, roasting & brewing process. Thus, Colombian coffee is just strong if it is prepared to be stronger.  Increased proportions of lower-quality beans make a bitter coffee, yet Colombian coffee maintains its taste profile even when pushed via more rigorous and vigorous brewing processes.

These beans provide a cup that is smooth, balanced, and light in body. There can be also overtones of fruit, almonds, and dark chocolate in the flavour profile.

Colombian coffee beans are among one the finest anywhere. Colombia has a long history of farming Arabica coffee, & the country’s specific topography makes it ideal for making a tastey, high quality bean. The coffee is renowned worldwide for its taste & the distinct mild but rich aroma which rises from each cup. That could explain why they have been exporting coffee for ~200 years, & it’s been their leading export for most of that period.

Many people consider Costa Rican coffee as the best in Central America. Altitude ratings are given to Costa Rican beans, with the best rated beans grown at the greatest altitude. These beans are called “strictly firm beans”.

In a little pot, bring water and panela to a boil. Panela is a product that is made from sugarcane, it is sweet & brown, is marketed in blocks or grated and the flavour is like that of brown sugar. Decrease heat to low and cook for 30 minutes, stir occationally to melt panela.

In a tiny French press, put the ground coffee. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it gets to the brim of the French press.

Brew for 4 minutes, stirring once during the time. Push down the French press and pour the coffee straight away.

Colombian coffee beans are most suited for a dark roast.  This because of the fuller, floral flavour, however light roasts made from Colombian beans are just as flavourful. While retaining the bean’s flavour, cocoa & caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The tastes & smells of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s growing conditions & processes make it considered to be the best by many people, especially because of its distinct flavour. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce flavourful coffee with outstanding quality at high elevations. They are then prepared natually on little farms by hand. The higher elevation makes for a better flavoured coffee bean. Because of its favourable meteorological characteristics, Colombia coffee is a rich, somewhat fruity, and chocolaty taste.

The caffeine content of Colombian coffee is comparable to that of other coffees. The caffeine concentration of a dark roast coffee is a little bit higher than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is minor & may go unnoticed. Depending on the sub-variety & amount of roasting, high-quality Colombian Arabica coffee contains 30-50 mg per single espresso serving and up to 200 mg in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian beans are among the most renound & popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied flavour which is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more praised for their robust & balanced flavours than for their particular flavour profile. Guatemala coffee is also quite good coffee.

    • The hulling proceedure

Colombian coffee beans are dried benith the sun for a few days or until the water content reaches about ten percent. This aids in the bean’s drying and preps it for hulling. Sumatran coffee stays far less time in the sunshine. Sumatran coffee is hulled with substantially higher moisture content, at times as much as twenty percent.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.

The Colombian coffee region, is called the Coffee Triangle. It is a part of the Colombian Paisa region in the rural area of Colombia. It is famous for producing the biggest amount of Colombian coffee.
