FAQs

Colombian Coffee has a mild acidity and a robust caramel sweetness, possibly with a nut undertone, similar to higher-quality Peruvian coffee beans. Colombian coffee beans have the most distinct coffee taste in North America, being sweet & medium-bodied.

It is possible to make stronger Colombian coffee compared to non-Colombian coffee. The strength of the coffee is determined by the processing, roasting and brewing methods. Thus, Colombian coffee is just strong if it is made to be strong.  Increased amounts of lower quality beans produce a bitter brew, but Colombian coffee maintains its flavour profile even when pushed via more rigorous and vigorous brewing processes.

These coffee beans make a flavour that is smooth, balanced, and light in body. There are also overtones of fruit, almonds, and dark chocolate in the taste profile.

Colombian coffee beans are among one the best on the globe. Colombia has a long history of culturing Arabica beans, & their specific topography makes it perfect for producing a delicious, top quality coffee bean. The coffee is renowned accross the world for its flavour and the destinctive mild but rich aroma that rises from each cup. That may explain why they have been producing coffee for ~200 years, & it’s been their biggest export for the majority of that period.

Most people regard Costa Rican coffee as the top one in Central America. Elevation classes are given to Costa Rican beans, with the highest-rated beans farmed at the greatest elevation. These beans are known as strictly hard beans”.

In a small saucepan, bring water & panela to a boil. Panela is a product that is made with sugarcane, it is sweet and brown, is marketed in blocks or grated and the taste is like that of brown sugar. Reduce heat to low & simmer for 30 minutes, occasionally stirring to melt panela.

In a tiny French press, place the ground coffee. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it gets to the brim of the French press.

allow it to stand for 4 min, stirring only once. Push down the French press and pour the coffee straight away.

Colombian coffee is most suited for a dark roast.  This because of the fuller, floral taste, but light roasts made from Colombian beans are just as flavourful. While retaining the bean’s flavour, cocoa & caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The tastes & aromas of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s cultivating conditions and processes make it considered to be the best by many people, especially due to its distinct taste. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce tasty coffee with outstanding quality at higher elevations. They are then naturally processed on little farms by hand. The high altitude produces a better flavoured coffee bean. Because of its favourable meteorological conditions, Colombia coffee is a rich, somewhat fruity, & chocolaty flavour.

The caffeine content of Colombian coffee is comparable to that of other coffee types. The caffeine content of a dark roast coffee is a little bit higher than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is minor and may not be noticable. Depending on the sub-variety and degree of roasting, high quality Colombian Arabica coffee has 30-50 milligrams per each espresso serving & up to 200 milligrams in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian beans are among the most well-known & popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied flavour that is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more known for their robust and balanced flavours than for their particular taste profile. Guatemala coffee is also very good coffee.

    • The hulling process

Colombian coffee beans are dried under the sun over a few days or until the water content gets to around ten percent. This aids in the bean’s drying & preps it for hulling. Sumatran coffee stays far less time in the sun. Sumatran coffee is hulled with substantially higher water content, at times as much as 20 percent.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.

The Colombian coffee region, is named the Coffee Triangle. It is a part of the Colombian Paisa area in the rural area of Colombia. It is famous for growing the largest amount of Colombian coffee.
