FAQs

Colombian Coffee has a mild acidity & a robust caramel sweetness, often with a nutty undertone, similar to high quality Peruvian beans. Colombian coffee beans have the most identifiable coffee taste in North America, being sweet & medium bodied.

It is possible to make stronger Colombian coffee compared to other coffee. The strength of the coffee will depend on the processing, roasting & brewing process. Thus, Colombian coffee is only strong if it is prepared to be strong.  Increased percentage of lower-quality beans make a bitter coffee, but Colombian coffee keeps its flavour profile even when pushed via more rigorous and vigorous brewing processes.

Colombian coffee beans make a cup that is smooth, balanced, and light in body. There are also overtones of fruit, almonds, & dark chocolate in the flavour profile.

Colombian coffee beans are among one the best anywhere. Colombia has a long history of cultivating Arabica beans, & the country’s particular topography makes it perfect for making a delicious, high quality drink. The coffee is known accross the globe for its flavour & the distinct mild but rich aroma which rises from each brew. This could explain why they have been cultivating coffee for about 200 years, and it’s been their highest export for most of that time.

Many people regard Costa Rican coffee as the best in Central America. Elevation ratings are assigned to Costa Rican beans, with the highest rated beans cultivated at the highest elevation. These beans are named strictly hard beans”.

In a small saucepan, boil water and panela. Panela is a product that is made with sugarcane, it is sweet and brown, is sold in blocks or grated & the taste is like that of brown sugar. Decrease heat to low and simmer for 30 min, stir occationally to melt panela.

In a little French press, put the ground coffee beans. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it reaches the top of the French press.

Brew for four min, stirring only once. Plunge the French press & pour the coffee right away.

Colombian coffee is best as a dark roast.  This because of the fuller, floral taste, but light roasts made from Colombian beans are equally flavourful. While retaining the bean’s flavour, cocoa & caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The flavours & aromas of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s growing conditions and processes make it thought to be the best by a lot of people, especially because of its distinct flavour. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce flavourful coffee with outstanding quality at higher elevations. They are then prepared natually on small farms by hand. The higher altitude makes for a nicer tasting coffee bean. Due to its favourable meteorological characteristics, Colombia coffee is a rich, somewhat fruity, and chocolaty flavour.

The caffeine content of Colombian coffee is similar to that of other coffee beans. The caffeine content of a dark roast coffee is slightly more than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is small & may go unnoticed. Depending on the sub-variety and amount of roasting, top quality Colombian Arabica coffee contains 30-50 milligrams per each espresso serving and up to 200 milligrams in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian coffee beans are among the most well-known and popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied flavour that is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more known for their robust and balanced flavours than for their particular flavour profile. Guatemala coffee is also very good coffee.

    • The hulling proceedure

Colombian coffee beans are dried under the sun for a few days or until the moisture content gets to about 10 percent. This helps in the bean’s drying and prepares it for hulling. Sumatran coffee spends far less time in the sun. Sumatran coffee is hulled with significantly higher water amount, at times as much as 20 percent.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.
