FAQs

Colombian Coffee provides a mild acidity and a robust caramel sweetness, possibly with a nutty undertone, similar to higher-quality Peruvian beans. Colombian coffee beans have the most well known coffee flavour in North America, that of sweet & medium-bodied.

It is possible to produce stronger Colombian coffee compared to other coffee. The strength of the coffee will depend on the processing, roasting and brewing process. Thus, Colombian coffee is only stronger if it is prepared to be strong.  Higher proportions of low quality beans make a bitter coffee, but Colombian coffee keeps its flavour profile even when pushed via more rigorous & vigorous brewing methods.

Colombian beans make a flavour that is smooth, balanced, and light in body. There can be also overtones of fruit, almonds, & dark chocolate in the taste profile.

Colombian coffee beans are among one the finest in the world. Colombia has a long history of producing Arabica coffee beans, & the country’s specific topography makes it ideal for producing a delicious, high quality beverage. The coffee is renowned accross the globe for its taste & the destinctive mild but rich aroma which comes from each brew. That may explain why they have been exporting coffee for about 200 years, & it’s been their biggest export for most of that period.

Most people consider Costa Rican coffee as the best in Central America. Elevation ratings are assigned to Costa Rican beans, with the best rated beans grown at the highest elevation. These beans are known as strictly hard beans”.

In a little saucepan, bring water & panela to a boil. Panela is a product that is produced from sugarcane, it is sweet & brown, is sold in blocks or grated and the taste is similar to that of brown sugar. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 30 min, occasionally stirring to melt panela.

In a small French press, put the ground coffee beans. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it reaches the brim of the French press.

Brew for four minutes, stirring only once. Plunge the French press and pour the coffee right away.

Colombian coffee beans are most suited for a dark roast.  This because of the fuller, floral taste, however light roasts made from Colombian beans are equally delicious. While keeping the bean’s flavour, cocoa & caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The tastes & smells of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s cultivating conditions & processes make it considered to be the best by a lot of people, particually due to its distinct flavour. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce tasty coffee with excellent quality at higher elevations. They are then processed natually on small farms by hand. The high altitude produces a nicer flavoured bean. Due to its favourable meteorological characteristics, Colombia coffee beans are a rich, somewhat fruity, and chocolaty taste.

The caffeine content of Colombian coffee is comparable to that of other coffees. The caffeine content of a dark roast coffee is a little bit greater than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is minor and may go unnoticed. Depending on the sub-variety & amount of roasting, high-quality Colombian Arabica coffee contains 30-50 milligrams per each espresso serving and up to 200 milligrams in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian coffee beans are among the most well-known and popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied taste which is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more praised for their robust & balanced flavours than for their particular flavour profile. Guatemala coffee is also very good coffee.

    • The hulling proceedure

Colombian coffee beans are dried under the sun for a few days or until the moisture content gets to around ten%. This helps in the bean’s drying & prepares it for hulling. Sumatran coffee spends far less time in the sunshine. Sumatran coffee is hulled with significantly higher moisture content, at times as high as twenty percent.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.

The Colombian coffee region, is named the Coffee Triangle. It is a part of the Colombian Paisa region in the regional area of Colombia. It is renound for culturing the majority of Colombian coffee.
