FAQs

Colombian Coffee has a mild acidity & a robust caramel sweetness, sometimes with a nutty undertone, similar to high quality Peruvian coffee. Colombian coffee beans have the most distinct coffee flavour in North America, being sweet and medium-bodied.

It is possible to produce stronger Colombian coffee compared to non-Colombian coffee. The strength of the coffee can be altered by the processing, roasting & brewing methods. Therefore, Colombian coffee is just stronger if it is made to be stronger.  Higher proportions of lower-quality beans make a bitter brew, but Colombian coffee maintains its taste profile even when pushed via more rigorous & vigorous brewing methods.

Colombian coffee beans make a taste that is smooth, balanced, and light in body. There can be also overtones of fruit, almonds, & dark chocolate in the taste profile.

Colombian coffee is among one the best anywhere. Colombia has a long history of cultivating Arabica coffee, and the country’s particular topography makes it perfect for making a tastey, top quality brew. The coffee is renowned accross the globe for its taste and the distinct mild but rich aroma which comes from each cup. This could explain why they have been growing coffee for ~200 years, and it’s been their highest export for most of that time.

Most people regard Costa Rican coffee as the top one in Central America. Altitude ratings are given to Costa Rican beans, with the highest rated beans cultivated at the highest elevation. These beans are known as “strictly high grown”.

In a small pot, boil water and panela. Panela is a product that is made from sugarcane, it is sweet and brown, is sold in blocks or grated and the flavour is similar to that of brown sugar. Reduce heat to low and cook for 30 minutes, stir occationally to melt panela.

In a tiny French press, put the ground coffee. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it gets to the top of the French press.

allow it to stand for four minutes, stirring only once. Plunge the French press and pour the coffee straight away.

Colombian coffee is most suited for a dark roast.  This as a result of the fuller, floral taste, but light roasts made from Colombian beans are equally tasty. While keeping the bean’s taste, cocoa and caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The tastes and smells of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s growing conditions and processes make it thought to be the best by many people, particually because of its distinct taste. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce flavourful coffee with excellent quality at high altitudes. They are then processed natually on little farms by hand. The higher elevation makes for a nicer flavoured coffee bean. Due to its favourable meteorological characteristics, Colombia coffee is a rich, somewhat fruity, and chocolaty taste.

The caffeine content of Colombian coffee is similar to that of other coffee types. The caffeine content of a dark roast coffee is slightly more than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is minor and may go unnoticed. Depending on the sub-variety & amount of roasting, high quality Colombian Arabica coffee contains 30-50 milligrams per each espresso serving and up to 200 milligrams in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian beans are among the most well-known & popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied flavour that is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more known for their robust and balanced flavours than for their particular flavour profile. Guatemala coffee is also very good coffee.

    • The hulling process

Colombian coffee beans are dried benith the sun for a few days or until the water content reaches about 10 percent. This helps in the bean’s drying & preps it for hulling. Sumatran coffee spends far less time in the sunshine. Sumatran coffee is hulled with a lot greater moisture content, at times as high as twenty percent.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.

The Colombian coffee region, is named the Coffee Triangle. It is a part of the Colombian Paisa region in the regional area of Colombia. It is renound for producing the most of Colombian coffee.
