FAQs

Colombian Coffee provides a mild acidity & a robust caramel sweetness, sometimes with a nutty undertone, similar to higher-quality Peruvian coffee beans. Colombian coffee beans have the most distinct coffee flavour in North America, being sweet and medium-bodied.

It is possible to make strong Colombian coffee compared to other coffee types. The strength of the coffee can be altered by the processing, roasting and brewing process. Thus, Colombian coffee is only strong if it is prepared to be strong.  Higher amounts of lower-quality beans produce a bitter coffee, yet Colombian coffee keeps its flavour integrity even when pushed via more rigorous & vigorous brewing methods.

These coffee beans make a cup that is smooth, balanced, and light in body. There can be also overtones of fruit, almonds, & dark chocolate in the flavour profile.

Colombian coffee is among one the best anywhere. Colombia has a long history of culturing Arabica coffee beans, & their specific topography makes it perfect for making a delicious, top quality brew. The coffee is known worldwide for its flavour & the destinctive mild but rich aroma which rises from each brew. This could explain why they have been exporting coffee for ~200 years, and it’s been their highest export for the majority of that time.

Many people regard Costa Rican coffee as the top one in Central America. Elevation classes are assigned to Costa Rican beans, with the highest-rated beans grown at the highest altitude. These beans are referred to as strictly hard beans”.

In a small pot, boil water and panela. Panela is a product that is produced from sugarcane, it is sweet and brown, is sold in blocks or grated and the flavour is similar to that of brown sugar. Reduce heat to low & simmer for 30 min, occasionally stirring to melt panela.

In a little French press, place the ground coffee beans. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it reaches the brim of the French press.

Brew for four min, stirring only once. Plunge the French press & pour the coffee right away.

Colombian coffee is best as a dark roast.  This as a result of the fuller, floral flavour, but light roasts made from Colombian beans are equally flavourful. While retaining the bean’s flavour, cocoa and caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The flavours & aromas of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s producing conditions and processes make it considered to be the best by a lot of people, particually because of its distinct flavour. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce tasty coffee with excellent quality at higher elevations. They are then naturally processed on little farms by hand. The high elevation makes for a better tasting coffee bean. Due to its favourable climatic characteristics, Colombian coffee is a rich, somewhat fruity, & chocolaty flavour.

The caffeine content of Colombian coffee is similar to that of other coffee beans. The caffeine content of a dark roast coffee is a little bit more than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is small & may go unnoticed. Depending on the sub-variety and amount of roasting, high quality Colombian Arabica coffee contains 30-50 milligrams per each espresso serving and up to 200 mg in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian beans are among the most well-known & popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied flavour that is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more known for their robust & balanced flavours than for their particular taste profile. Guatemala coffee is also very good coffee.

    • The hulling proceedure

Colombian coffee beans are dried under the sun for a few days or until the water amount reaches around 10%. This helps in the bean’s drying and prepares it for hulling. Sumatran coffee stays far less time in the sunshine. Sumatran coffee is hulled with a lot higher water content, sometimes as much as 20 percent.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.
