FAQs

Colombian Coffee provides a mild acidity and a robust caramel sweetness, often with a nut undertone, similar to high quality Peruvian beans. They have the most well known coffee flavour in North America, being sweet & medium-bodied.

It is possible to make stronger Colombian coffee compared to other coffee types. The strength of the coffee is determined by the processing, roasting and brewing methods. Therefore, Colombian coffee is just strong if it is prepared to be strong.  Increased percentage of lower-quality beans result in a bitter coffee, but Colombian coffee maintains its taste integrity even when pushed via more rigorous & vigorous brewing processes.

These coffee beans make a taste that is smooth, balanced, & light in body. There can be also overtones of fruit, almonds, & dark chocolate in the flavour profile.

Colombian coffee is among one the best anywhere. Colombia has a long history of growing Arabica coffee, and their specific topography makes it ideal for producing a tastey, high-quality brew. The coffee is renowned accross the world for its taste & the destinctive mild but rich aroma which rises from each cup. That could explain why they have been growing coffee for about 200 years, and it’s been their highest export for most of that period.

Many people regard Costa Rican coffee as the top one in Central America. Elevation classes are assigned to Costa Rican beans, with the highest rated beans grown at the highest elevation. These beans are referred to as “strictly high grown”.

In a small saucepan, bring water and panela to a boil. Panela is a product that is made from sugarcane, it is sweet & brown, is marketed in blocks or grated & the taste is similar to that of brown sugar. Decrease heat to low & cook for 30 min, stir occationally to melt panela.

In a little French press, put the ground beans. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it reaches the top of the French press.

allow it to stand for 4 min, stirring once during the time. Push down the French press and pour the coffee straight away.

Colombian coffee is best as a dark roast.  This as a result of the fuller, floral flavour, but light roasts made from Colombian beans are equally flavourful. While keeping the bean’s flavour, cocoa & caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The tastes & aromas of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s cultivating conditions & processes make it considered to be the best by many people, particually because of its distinct flavour. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce flavourful coffee with great quality at higher altitudes. They are then processed natually on small farms by hand. The high elevation makes for a nicer flavoured bean. Because of its favourable climatic conditions, Colombia coffee beans are a rich, somewhat fruity, & chocolaty taste.

The caffeine concentration of Colombian coffee is comparable to that of other coffee varieties. The caffeine content of a dark roast coffee is a little bit more than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is minor & may go unnoticed. Depending on the sub-variety and amount of roasting, high-quality Colombian Arabica coffee contains 30-50 milligrams per each espresso serving and up to 200 mg in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian beans are among the most well-known and popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied flavour that is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more praised for their robust & balanced tastes than for their particular flavour profile. Guatemala coffee is also quite good coffee.

    • The hulling process

Colombian coffee beans are dried under the sun over a few days or until the water content gets to around 10 percent. This aids in the bean’s drying and preps it for hulling. Sumatran coffee stays a lot less time in the sun. Sumatran coffee is hulled with a lot greater water content, sometimes as much as 20%.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.
