FAQs

Colombian Coffee provides a mild acidity and a robust caramel sweetness, often with a nutty undertone, similar to good quality Peruvian coffee. They have the most identifiable coffee taste in North America, being sweet and medium-bodied.

It is possible to produce strong Colombian coffee in comparison to non-Colombian coffee. The strength of the coffee is determined by the processing, roasting & brewing process. Therefore, Colombian coffee is just stronger if it is prepared to be strong.  Increased proportions of low quality beans produce a bitter brew, yet Colombian coffee keeps its taste integrity even when pushed via more rigorous and vigorous brewing processes.

These beans produce a cup that is smooth, balanced, & light in body. There are also overtones of fruit, almonds, & dark chocolate in the taste profile.

Colombian coffee beans are among one the best anywhere. Colombia has a long history of farming Arabica coffee, & the country’s specific topography makes it ideal for producing a tastey, top quality coffee bean. The coffee is renowned worldwide for its taste and the destinctive mild but rich aroma that comes from each cup. That could explain why they have been producing coffee for ~200 years, & it’s been their leading export for most of that time.

Most people regard Costa Rican coffee as the top one in Central America. Elevation ratings are given to Costa Rican beans, with the highest-rated beans farmed at the greatest elevation. These beans are known as “strictly high grown”.

In a small pot, boil water and panela. Panela is a product that is produced from sugarcane, it is sweet and brown, is sold in blocks or grated & the flavour is similar to that of brown sugar. Decrease heat to low and cook for 30 minutes, stir occationally to melt panela.

In a tiny French press, put the ground coffee. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it gets to the top of the French press.

allow it to stand for four min, stirring only once. Push down the French press and pour the coffee straight away.

Colombian coffee is best as a dark roast.  This because of the fuller, floral flavour, however light roasts made from Colombian beans are just as delicious. While keeping the bean’s flavour, cocoa and caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The flavours & aromas of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s cultivating conditions and processes make it thought to be the best by many people, especially because of its distinct taste. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce flavourful coffee with great quality at high elevations. They are then prepared natually on little farms by hand. The higher elevation produces a nicer flavoured coffee bean. Due to its favourable climatic conditions, Colombia coffee is a rich, somewhat fruity, & chocolaty flavour.

The caffeine concentration of Colombian coffee is similar to that of other coffees. The caffeine content of a dark roast coffee is slightly more than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is minor and may not be noticable. Depending on the sub-variety and amount of roasting, high-quality Colombian Arabica coffee contains 30-50 mg per single espresso serving & up to 200 mg in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian coffee beans are among the most renound and popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied flavour that is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more known for their robust and balanced flavours than for their particular taste profile. Guatemala coffee is also very good coffee.

    • The hulling proceedure

Colombian coffee beans are dried benith the sun over a few days or until the moisture content reaches about 10 percent. This helps in the bean’s drying & prepares it for hulling. Sumatran coffee stays a lot less time in the sun. Sumatran coffee is hulled with significantly higher water amount, sometimes as much as twenty percent.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.

The Colombian coffee area, is named the Coffee Triangle. It is a part of the Colombian Paisa area in the regional area of Colombia. It is renound for growing the largest amount of Colombian coffee. There are four departments (which are the same as States & Territories in Australia) in the area which are: Caldas, Quindío, Risaralda & Tolima.
