FAQs

Colombian Coffee provides a mild acidity and a robust caramel sweetness, possibly with a nutty undertone, similar to good quality Peruvian coffee. Colombian coffee beans have the most well known coffee taste in North America, being sweet & medium bodied.

It is possible to make stronger Colombian coffee compared to other coffee types. The strength of the coffee is determined by the processing, roasting & brewing methods. Thus, Colombian coffee is just strong if it is prepared to be stronger.  Higher proportions of lower quality beans make a bitter brew, but Colombian coffee maintains its taste profile even when pushed via more rigorous and vigorous brewing methods.

These beans make a cup that is smooth, balanced, and light in body. There can be also overtones of fruit, almonds, & dark chocolate in the taste profile.

Colombian coffee is among one the finest on the globe. Colombia has a long history of cultivating Arabica coffee, and the country’s particular topography makes it ideal for making a delicious, high-quality drink. The coffee is known accross the globe for its taste and the destinctive mild but rich aroma which rises from each cup. This could explain why they have been producing coffee for ~200 years, and it’s been their leading export for most of that time.

Most people regard Costa Rican coffee as the best in Central America. Elevation ratings are given to Costa Rican beans, with the highest-rated beans grown at the highest altitude. These beans are referred to as “strictly high grown”.

In a small saucepan, bring water and panela to a boil. Panela is a product that is produced from sugarcane, it is sweet & brown, is sold in blocks or grated and the taste is similar to that of brown sugar. Decrease heat to low and cook for 30 minutes, stir occationally to melt panela.

In a little French press, put the ground beans. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it reaches the brim of the French press.

allow it to stand for 4 min, stirring once during the time. Plunge the French press and pour the coffee straight away.

Colombian coffee is best as a dark roast.  This due to the fuller, floral taste, but light roasts made from Colombian beans are equally tasty. While keeping the bean’s taste, cocoa and caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The flavours and smells of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s producing conditions & processes make it considered to be the best by a lot of people, especially due to its distinct taste. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce flavourful coffee with great quality at high elevations. They are then naturally processed on small farms by hand. The higher altitude makes for a better tasting bean. Due to its favourable climatic conditions, Colombia coffee is a rich, somewhat fruity, & chocolaty flavour.

The caffeine concentration of Colombian coffee is similar to that of other coffee beans. The caffeine content of a dark roast coffee is slightly more than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is small and may not be noticable. Depending on the sub-variety & degree of roasting, top quality Colombian Arabica coffee contains 30-50 mg per single espresso serving & up to 200 mg in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian coffee beans are among the most well-known & popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied flavour which is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more known for their robust and balanced flavours than for their particular taste profile. Guatemala coffee is also very tasty coffee.

    • The hulling process

Colombian coffee beans are dried under the sun for a few days or until the water content gets to about ten%. This aids in the bean’s drying and prepares it for hulling. Sumatran coffee spends a lot less time in the sun. Sumatran coffee is hulled with substantially greater moisture amount, sometimes as high as twenty percent.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.

The Colombian coffee area, is named the Coffee Triangle. It is a part of the Colombian Paisa area in the rural area of Colombia. It is renound for producing the biggest amount of Colombian coffee.
