FAQs

Colombian Coffee has a mild acidity & a robust caramel sweetness, occationally with a nut undertone, similar to good quality Peruvian coffees. They have the most distinct coffee flavour in North America, being sweet and medium-bodied.

It is possible to produce stronger Colombian coffee compared to other coffee. The strength of the coffee will depend on the processing, roasting and brewing methods. Therefore, Colombian coffee is just strong if it is made to be strong.  Increased proportions of low quality beans make a bitter coffee, but Colombian coffee keeps its taste profile even when pushed via more rigorous & vigorous brewing methods.

These coffee beans provide a flavour that is smooth, balanced, and light in body. There are also overtones of fruit, almonds, and dark chocolate in the taste profile.

Colombian coffee is among one the best on the globe. Colombia has a long history of growing Arabica beans, and their particular topography makes it perfect for producing a tastey, high-quality coffee bean. The coffee is known accross the globe for its flavour & the destinctive mild but rich aroma that rises from each brew. This could explain why they have been growing coffee for about 200 years, and it’s been their highest export for most of that period.

Many people consider Costa Rican coffee as the best in Central America. Elevation ratings are given to Costa Rican beans, with the best rated beans produced at the greatest elevation. These beans are referred to as “strictly high grown”.

In a little pot, boil water and panela. Panela is a product that is produced from sugarcane, it is sweet & brown, is sold in blocks or grated & the taste is similar to that of brown sugar. Decrease heat to low & simmer for 30 minutes, stir occationally to melt panela.

In a little French press, put the ground coffee beans. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it gets to the top of the French press.

Brew for 4 minutes, stirring once during the time. Push down the French press and pour the coffee straight away.

Colombian coffee is most suited for a dark roast.  This as a result of the fuller, floral taste, but light roasts made from Colombian beans are just as flavourful. While keeping the bean’s flavour, cocoa and caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The tastes & smells of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s growing conditions & processes make it thought to be the best by a lot of people, particually due to its distinct taste. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce flavourful coffee with outstanding quality at high elevations. They are then naturally processed on little farms by hand. The higher elevation makes for a better flavoured coffee bean. Due to its favourable meteorological attributes, Colombian coffee beans are a rich, somewhat fruity, & chocolaty flavour.

The caffeine concentration of Colombian coffee is comparable to that of other coffee varieties. The caffeine content of a dark roast coffee is a little bit higher than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is minor & may not be noticable. Depending on the sub-variety & amount of roasting, high quality Colombian Arabica coffee has 30-50 milligrams per single espresso serving & up to 200 milligrams in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian coffee beans are among the most renound & popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied flavour which is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more known for their robust & balanced tastes than for their particular flavour profile. Guatemala coffee is also quite good coffee.

    • The hulling proceedure

Colombian coffee beans are dried benith the sun for a few days or until the moisture amount reaches around 10%. This helps in the bean’s drying and prepares it for hulling. Sumatran coffee stays far less time in the sun. Sumatran coffee is hulled with a lot greater water amount, sometimes as high as 20 percent.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.
