FAQs

Colombian Coffee has a mild acidity and a robust caramel sweetness, often with a nutty undertone, similar to high quality Peruvian beans. Colombian coffee beans have the most identifiable coffee taste in North America, that of sweet & medium bodied.

It is possible to produce strong Colombian coffee in comparison to non-Colombian coffee types. The strength of the coffee can be altered by the processing, roasting & brewing methods. Therefore, Colombian coffee is just strong if it is made to be stronger.  Higher percentage of lower-quality beans produce a bitter brew, but Colombian coffee maintains its taste profile even when pushed via more rigorous and vigorous brewing methods.

These beans produce a flavour that is smooth, balanced, and light in body. There are also overtones of fruit, almonds, & dark chocolate in the taste profile.

Colombian coffee beans are among one the best anywhere. Colombia has a long history of cultivating Arabica beans, & the country’s particular topography makes it ideal for making a delicious, high quality beverage. The coffee is known worldwide for its taste and the destinctive mild but rich aroma that comes from each cup. This could explain why they have been cultivating coffee for ~200 years, and it’s been their highest export for most of that period.

Many people consider Costa Rican coffee as the top one in Central America. Altitude ratings are assigned to Costa Rican beans, with the highest-rated beans produced at the greatest elevation. These beans are called “strictly firm beans”.

In a little saucepan, bring water and panela to a boil. Panela is a product that is produced from sugarcane, it is sweet & brown, is sold in blocks or grated & the taste is like that of brown sugar. Decrease heat to low and simmer for 30 min, occasionally stirring to melt panela.

In a little French press, place the ground coffee beans. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it gets to the brim of the French press.

Brew for 4 min, stirring once during the time. Plunge the French press and pour the coffee straight away.

Colombian coffee is best as a dark roast.  This as a result of the fuller, floral taste, but light roasts made from Colombian beans are equally delicious. While retaining the bean’s taste, cocoa and caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The flavours and aromas of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s cultivating conditions and processes make it thought to be the best by many people, especially due to its distinct taste. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce tasty coffee with great quality at high altitudes. They are then naturally prepared on small farms by hand. The higher altitude produces a better tasting bean. Because of its favourable meteorological conditions, Colombian coffee beans are a rich, somewhat fruity, and chocolaty taste.

The caffeine concentration of Colombian coffee is similar to that of other coffee varieties. The caffeine concentration of a dark roast coffee is a little bit higher than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is small and may go unnoticed. Depending on the sub-variety & amount of roasting, high quality Colombian Arabica coffee has 30-50 mg per single espresso serving & up to 200 mg in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian beans are among the most renound & popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied taste which is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more known for their robust & balanced tastes than for their particular taste profile. Guatemala coffee is also quite tasty coffee.

    • The hulling proceedure

Colombian coffee beans are dried under the sun for a few days or until the moisture amount reaches around 10%. This aids in the bean’s drying and prepares it for hulling. Sumatran coffee stays far less time in the sunshine. Sumatran coffee is hulled with a lot greater water amount, sometimes as much as 20 percent.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.

The Colombian coffee area, is called the Coffee Triangle. It is a part of the Colombian Paisa area in the rural area of Colombia. It is famous for farming the majority of Colombian coffee.
