FAQs

Colombian Coffee exhibits a mild acidity and a robust caramel sweetness, sometimes with a nut undertone, similar to high quality Peruvian coffee beans. They have the most identifiable coffee taste in North America, that of sweet & medium bodied.

It is possible to make stronger Colombian coffee in comparison to other coffee types. The strength of the coffee is determined by the processing, roasting and brewing methods. Thus, Colombian coffee is only strong if it is prepared to be strong.  Increased proportions of lower-quality beans make a bitter coffee, yet Colombian coffee keeps its flavour integrity even when pushed via more rigorous & vigorous brewing processes.

These beans make a drink that is smooth, balanced, & light in body. There can be also overtones of fruit, almonds, and dark chocolate in the taste profile.

Colombian coffee is among one the finest on the globe. Colombia has a long history of farming Arabica coffee, & their specific topography makes it ideal for making a tastey, high-quality brew. The coffee is known accross the globe for its flavour and the destinctive mild but rich aroma that comes from each brew. This may explain why they have been cultivating coffee for ~200 years, and it’s been their biggest export for the majority of that time.

Most people consider Costa Rican coffee as the top one in Central America. Elevation classes are assigned to Costa Rican beans, with the highest-rated beans produced at the greatest elevation. These beans are named “strictly firm beans”.

In a little saucepan, bring water and panela to a boil. Panela is a product that is made from sugarcane, it is sweet & brown, is marketed in blocks or grated & the flavour is like that of brown sugar. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 30 min, occasionally stirring to melt panela.

In a tiny French press, put the ground coffee. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it gets to the top of the French press.

Brew for 4 minutes, stirring only once. Plunge the French press and pour the coffee right away.

Colombian coffee beans are most suited for a dark roast.  This due to the fuller, floral flavour, but light roasts made from Colombian beans are just as tasty. While retaining the bean’s flavour, cocoa and caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The flavours & smells of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s cultivating conditions and processes make it thought to be the best by a lot of people, particually due to its distinct flavour. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce tasty coffee with great quality at high altitudes. They are then prepared natually on little farms by hand. The high altitude makes for a better flavoured bean. Due to its favourable climatic attributes, Colombia coffee beans are a rich, somewhat fruity, and chocolaty taste.

The caffeine content of Colombian coffee is similar to that of other coffee types. The caffeine concentration of a dark roast coffee is a little bit higher than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is small & may go unnoticed. Depending on the sub-variety and amount of roasting, top quality Colombian Arabica coffee has 30-50 mg per each espresso serving and up to 200 mg in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian beans are among the most well-known & popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied taste which is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more praised for their robust and balanced tastes than for their particular taste profile. Guatemala coffee is also very good coffee.

    • The hulling process

Colombian coffee beans are dried under the sun over a few days or until the moisture amount gets to around ten percent. This helps in the bean’s drying and prepares it for hulling. Sumatran coffee stays far less time in the sun. Sumatran coffee is hulled with a lot higher water content, sometimes as high as 20 percent.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.

The Colombian coffee area, is called the Coffee Triangle. It is a part of the Colombian Paisa region in the rural area of Colombia. It is renound for growing the most of Colombian coffee.
