FAQs

Colombian Coffee provides a mild acidity & a robust caramel sweetness, often with a nutty undertone, similar to higher-quality Peruvian beans. They have the most distinct coffee taste in North America, that of sweet & medium-bodied.

It is possible to make strong Colombian coffee in comparison to non-Colombian coffee. The strength of the coffee is determined by the processing, roasting and brewing process. Thus, Colombian coffee is just stronger if it is made to be strong.  Higher proportions of lower quality beans result in a bitter brew, yet Colombian coffee maintains its taste profile even when pushed via more rigorous & vigorous brewing methods.

These beans provide a taste that is smooth, balanced, & light in body. There are also overtones of fruit, almonds, & dark chocolate in the flavour profile.

Colombian coffee beans are among one the best anywhere. Colombia has a long history of producing Arabica coffee, & their particular topography makes it ideal for making a tastey, top quality drink. The coffee is known worldwide for its taste & the distinct mild but rich aroma which rises from each cup. That could explain why they have been cultivating coffee for about 200 years, and it’s been their leading export for most of that time.

Most people consider Costa Rican coffee as the top one in Central America. Altitude classes are given to Costa Rican beans, with the best rated beans farmed at the greatest elevation. These beans are known as “strictly firm beans”.

In a small pot, bring water and panela to a boil. Panela is a product that is produced from sugarcane, it is sweet and brown, is sold in blocks or grated & the flavour is like that of brown sugar. Reduce heat to low & cook for 30 min, stir occationally to melt panela.

In a tiny French press, place the ground beans. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it reaches the top of the French press.

Brew for four min, stirring once during the time. Plunge the French press & pour the coffee straight away.

Colombian coffee beans are best as a dark roast.  This due to the fuller, floral taste, but light roasts made from Colombian beans are equally delicious. While keeping the bean’s taste, cocoa & caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The tastes & smells of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s cultivating conditions and processes make it thought to be the best by many people, particually because of its distinct taste. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce tasty coffee with outstanding quality at higher altitudes. They are then prepared natually on small farms by hand. The higher elevation produces a better tasting bean. Due to its favourable meteorological attributes, Colombian coffee beans are a rich, somewhat fruity, & chocolaty flavour.

The caffeine content of Colombian coffee is comparable to that of other coffee types. The caffeine concentration of a dark roast coffee is a little bit higher than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is small and may go unnoticed. Depending on the sub-variety and degree of roasting, high-quality Colombian Arabica coffee has 30-50 milligrams per single espresso serving & up to 200 milligrams in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian beans are among the most well-known & popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied flavour that is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more known for their robust & balanced tastes than for their particular flavour profile. Guatemala coffee is also quite tasty coffee.

    • The hulling process

Colombian coffee beans are dried under the sun over a few days or until the water amount gets to about ten%. This helps in the bean’s drying & preps it for hulling. Sumatran coffee spends far less time in the sunshine. Sumatran coffee is hulled with significantly greater water amount, at times as much as twenty percent.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.
