FAQs

Colombian Coffee exhibits a mild acidity & a robust caramel sweetness, often with a nut undertone, similar to higher-quality Peruvian coffee beans. They have the most well known coffee flavour in North America, that of sweet & medium bodied.

It is possible to make strong Colombian coffee compared to other coffee types. The strength of the coffee is determined by the processing, roasting and brewing methods. Thus, Colombian coffee is only stronger if it is made to be strong.  Higher proportions of lower-quality beans produce a bitter brew, yet Colombian coffee keeps its flavour profile even when pushed via more rigorous and vigorous brewing processes.

Colombian beans produce a drink that is smooth, balanced, & light in body. There are also overtones of fruit, almonds, & dark chocolate in the taste profile.

Colombian coffee beans are among one the best on the globe. Colombia has a long history of culturing Arabica coffee, & their specific topography makes it perfect for producing a tastey, top quality drink. The coffee is known accross the globe for its flavour and the destinctive mild but rich aroma that rises from each brew. This could explain why they have been cultivating coffee for ~200 years, & it’s been their biggest export for most of that period.

Many people consider Costa Rican coffee as the top one in Central America. Elevation ratings are assigned to Costa Rican beans, with the highest-rated beans cultivated at the greatest elevation. These beans are referred to as strictly hard beans”.

In a little pot, bring water and panela to a boil. Panela is a product that is produced from sugarcane, it is sweet and brown, is marketed in blocks or grated and the flavour is like that of brown sugar. Reduce heat to low and cook for 30 minutes, stir occationally to melt panela.

In a little French press, place the ground coffee. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it gets to the brim of the French press.

Brew for four minutes, stirring only once. Plunge the French press & pour the coffee right away.

Colombian coffee beans are most suited for a dark roast.  This due to the fuller, floral flavour, however light roasts made from Colombian beans are just as delicious. While retaining the bean’s flavour, cocoa & caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The flavours & aromas of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s farming conditions and processes make it considered to be the best by many people, especially because of its distinct taste. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce flavourful coffee with excellent quality at high altitudes. They are then prepared natually on little farms by hand. The higher altitude makes for a nicer tasting bean. Due to its favourable climatic conditions, Colombian coffee beans are a rich, somewhat fruity, and chocolaty flavour.

The caffeine content of Colombian coffee is comparable to that of other coffees. The caffeine concentration of a dark roast coffee is a little bit greater than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is small & may go unnoticed. Depending on the sub-variety & amount of roasting, top quality Colombian Arabica coffee contains 30-50 mg per single espresso serving & up to 200 milligrams in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian beans are among the most renound and popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied taste that is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more praised for their robust and balanced flavours than for their particular flavour profile. Guatemala coffee is also very good coffee.

    • The hulling process

Colombian coffee beans are dried benith the sun over a few days or until the moisture amount gets to about ten%. This helps in the bean’s drying & preps it for hulling. Sumatran coffee spends far less time in the sunshine. Sumatran coffee is hulled with substantially greater moisture amount, sometimes as much as twenty percent.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.

The Colombian coffee area, is named the Coffee Triangle. It is a part of the Colombian Paisa area in the rural area of Colombia. It is renound for growing the biggest amount of Colombian coffee.
