FAQs

Colombian Coffee provides a mild acidity and a robust caramel sweetness, often with a nut undertone, similar to higher-quality Peruvian coffee. Colombian coffee beans have the most identifiable coffee taste in North America, being sweet and medium-bodied.

It is possible to make stronger Colombian coffee compared to other coffee types. The strength of the coffee can be altered by the processing, roasting and brewing process. Therefore, Colombian coffee is just stronger if it is made to be stronger.  Increased percentage of lower quality beans make a bitter coffee, yet Colombian coffee maintains its flavour integrity even when pushed via more rigorous & vigorous brewing methods.

Colombian coffee beans provide a cup that is smooth, balanced, and light in body. There are also overtones of fruit, almonds, and dark chocolate in the flavour profile.

Colombian coffee beans are among one the finest on the globe. Colombia has a long history of growing Arabica coffee beans, & their specific topography makes it perfect for making a tastey, high quality bean. The coffee is renowned worldwide for its taste and the destinctive mild but rich aroma which rises from each brew. That may explain why they have been exporting coffee for about 200 years, & it’s been their highest export for most of that period.

Most people regard Costa Rican coffee as the best in Central America. Elevation ratings are given to Costa Rican beans, with the highest rated beans cultivated at the highest altitude. These beans are referred to as strictly hard beans”.

In a small pot, bring water & panela to a boil. Panela is a product that is produced from sugarcane, it is sweet & brown, is marketed in blocks or grated & the taste is like that of brown sugar. Reduce heat to low & cook for 30 min, stir occationally to melt panela.

In a small French press, put the ground beans. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it gets to the brim of the French press.

Brew for four minutes, stirring only once. Plunge the French press & pour the coffee right away.

Colombian coffee is best as a dark roast.  This due to the fuller, floral taste, but light roasts made from Colombian beans are equally tasty. While keeping the bean’s taste, cocoa & caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The flavours and aromas of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s farming conditions and processes make it thought to be the best by many people, especially because of its distinct flavour. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce tasty coffee with great quality at high elevations. They are then processed natually on little farms by hand. The high altitude produces a better tasting coffee bean. Because of its favourable climatic attributes, Colombian coffee is a rich, somewhat fruity, & chocolaty flavour.

The caffeine concentration of Colombian coffee is similar to that of other coffee beans. The caffeine concentration of a dark roast coffee is slightly higher than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is minor and may go unnoticed. Depending on the sub-variety & degree of roasting, top quality Colombian Arabica coffee has 30-50 milligrams per each espresso serving and up to 200 mg in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian coffee beans are among the most renound and popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied taste which is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more known for their robust and balanced flavours than for their particular taste profile. Guatemala coffee is also very tasty coffee.

    • The hulling process

Colombian coffee beans are dried under the sun for a few days or until the moisture amount reaches about ten%. This helps in the bean’s drying & prepares it for hulling. Sumatran coffee stays a lot less time in the sun. Sumatran coffee is hulled with a lot higher moisture content, sometimes as much as twenty percent.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.

The Colombian coffee region, is named the Coffee Triangle. It is a part of the Colombian Paisa region in the regional area of Colombia. It is renound for producing the largest amount of Colombian coffee.
