FAQs

Colombian Coffee provides a mild acidity and a robust caramel sweetness, often with a nut undertone, similar to higher-quality Peruvian beans. Colombian coffee beans have the most well known coffee taste in North America, being sweet and medium bodied.

It is possible to produce stronger Colombian coffee compared to other coffee. The strength of the coffee can be altered by the processing, roasting & brewing process. Therefore, Colombian coffee is only stronger if it is made to be strong.  Higher percentage of low quality beans result in a bitter coffee, yet Colombian coffee keeps its taste integrity even when pushed via more rigorous & vigorous brewing methods.

Colombian beans produce a cup that is smooth, balanced, and light in body. There are also overtones of fruit, almonds, & dark chocolate in the flavour profile.

Colombian coffee beans are among one the finest anywhere. Colombia has a long history of producing Arabica coffee beans, and the country’s particular topography makes it perfect for making a tastey, high quality coffee bean. The coffee is known worldwide for its flavour and the destinctive mild but rich aroma that rises from each brew. This may explain why they have been producing coffee for about 200 years, & it’s been their highest export for most of that time.

Most people regard Costa Rican coffee as the top one in Central America. Elevation ratings are given to Costa Rican beans, with the highest rated beans cultivated at the greatest altitude. These beans are referred to as “strictly high grown”.

In a little saucepan, bring water and panela to a boil. Panela is a product that is produced from sugarcane, it is sweet and brown, is sold in blocks or grated & the taste is like that of brown sugar. Reduce heat to low & simmer for 30 minutes, occasionally stirring to melt panela.

In a little French press, put the ground coffee. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it gets to the brim of the French press.

Brew for four min, stirring only once. Plunge the French press and pour the coffee straight away.

Colombian coffee is most suited for a dark roast.  This due to the fuller, floral taste, however light roasts made from Colombian beans are equally delicious. While keeping the bean’s flavour, cocoa and caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The flavours & aromas of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s growing conditions and processes make it thought to be the best by many people, particually due to its distinct taste. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce tasty coffee with excellent quality at high altitudes. They are then processed natually on little farms by hand. The high elevation makes for a better tasting bean. Due to its favourable meteorological attributes, Colombia coffee is a rich, somewhat fruity, & chocolaty flavour.

The caffeine concentration of Colombian coffee is similar to that of other coffee varieties. The caffeine concentration of a dark roast coffee is a little bit more than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is minor & may go unnoticed. Depending on the sub-variety & degree of roasting, high-quality Colombian Arabica coffee has 30-50 mg per single espresso serving & up to 200 mg in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian coffee beans are among the most renound & popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied flavour which is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more known for their robust and balanced flavours than for their particular taste profile. Guatemala coffee is also quite good coffee.

    • The hulling proceedure

Colombian coffee beans are dried benith the sun for a few days or until the moisture amount reaches around ten%. This aids in the bean’s drying and prepares it for hulling. Sumatran coffee spends far less time in the sunshine. Sumatran coffee is hulled with substantially higher moisture amount, at times as much as 20 percent.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.

The Colombian coffee region, is called the Coffee Triangle. It is a part of the Colombian Paisa area in the rural area of Colombia. It is renound for farming the biggest amount of Colombian coffee. There are four departments (which are the same as States & Territories in Australia) in the area which are: Caldas, Quindío, Risaralda & Tolima.
