FAQs

Colombian Coffee provides a mild acidity and a robust caramel sweetness, sometimes with a nut undertone, similar to high quality Peruvian coffee beans. Colombian coffee beans have the most distinct coffee flavour in North America, that of sweet and medium bodied.

It is possible to make strong Colombian coffee compared to non-Colombian coffee. The strength of the coffee is determined by the processing, roasting & brewing process. Therefore, Colombian coffee is just strong if it is made to be strong.  Increased percentage of low quality beans result in a bitter brew, yet Colombian coffee keeps its flavour integrity even when pushed via more rigorous and vigorous brewing processes.

These coffee beans provide a cup that is smooth, balanced, and light in body. There are also overtones of fruit, almonds, and dark chocolate in the taste profile.

Colombian coffee is among one the best in the world. Colombia has a long history of cultivating Arabica coffee beans, & the country’s particular topography makes it perfect for producing a delicious, high quality bean. The coffee is renowned accross the globe for its taste and the destinctive mild but rich aroma which rises from each cup. That may explain why they have been producing coffee for about 200 years, & it’s been their leading export for most of that period.

Most people regard Costa Rican coffee as the top one in Central America. Elevation classes are given to Costa Rican beans, with the highest rated beans cultivated at the highest elevation. These beans are named strictly hard beans”.

In a small saucepan, bring water & panela to a boil. Panela is a product that is produced from sugarcane, it is sweet and brown, is sold in blocks or grated and the taste is similar to that of brown sugar. Decrease heat to low & cook for 30 min, occasionally stirring to melt panela.

In a small French press, put the ground coffee beans. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it reaches the brim of the French press.

Brew for 4 minutes, stirring once during the time. Push down the French press and pour the coffee straight away.

Colombian coffee is best as a dark roast.  This as a result of the fuller, floral taste, however light roasts made from Colombian beans are equally delicious. While keeping the bean’s flavour, cocoa & caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The tastes and smells of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s producing conditions & processes make it considered to be the best by a lot of people, especially due to its distinct taste. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce flavourful coffee with great quality at higher elevations. They are then naturally prepared on small farms by hand. The high altitude produces a nicer tasting coffee bean. Due to its favourable meteorological attributes, Colombian coffee beans are a rich, somewhat fruity, & chocolaty taste.

The caffeine concentration of Colombian coffee is similar to that of other coffee beans. The caffeine concentration of a dark roast coffee is slightly more than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is minor & may not be noticable. Depending on the sub-variety and degree of roasting, top quality Colombian Arabica coffee contains 30-50 mg per single espresso serving and up to 200 milligrams in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian coffee beans are among the most renound and popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied taste which is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more praised for their robust and balanced flavours than for their particular flavour profile. Guatemala coffee is also quite tasty coffee.

    • The hulling proceedure

Colombian coffee beans are dried under the sun over a few days or until the moisture amount gets to about ten%. This aids in the bean’s drying and preps it for hulling. Sumatran coffee spends far less time in the sunshine. Sumatran coffee is hulled with a lot higher water amount, sometimes as high as 20 percent.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.

The Colombian coffee region, is named the Coffee Triangle. It is a part of the Colombian Paisa region in the rural area of Colombia. It is renound for farming the majority of Colombian coffee.
