FAQs

Colombian Coffee has a mild acidity and a robust caramel sweetness, often with a nutty undertone, similar to high quality Peruvian coffee beans. Colombian coffee beans have the most identifiable coffee taste in North America, that of sweet & medium bodied.

It is possible to make stronger Colombian coffee in comparison to non-Colombian coffee. The strength of the coffee is determined by the processing, roasting and brewing process. Therefore, Colombian coffee is only stronger if it is prepared to be strong.  Higher percentage of low quality beans produce a bitter brew, yet Colombian coffee maintains its flavour integrity even when pushed via more rigorous & vigorous brewing processes.

Colombian coffee beans produce a cup that is smooth, balanced, & light in body. There are also overtones of fruit, almonds, and dark chocolate in the taste profile.

Colombian coffee beans are among one the finest anywhere. Colombia has a long history of culturing Arabica coffee beans, & the country’s specific topography makes it perfect for making a delicious, high-quality coffee bean. The coffee is known accross the world for its taste and the distinct mild but rich aroma which rises from each cup. This may explain why they have been growing coffee for about 200 years, & it’s been their highest export for most of that time.

Most people regard Costa Rican coffee as the best in Central America. Altitude classes are assigned to Costa Rican beans, with the best rated beans farmed at the greatest elevation. These beans are named “strictly high grown”.

In a little saucepan, bring water and panela to a boil. Panela is a product that is produced with sugarcane, it is sweet and brown, is sold in blocks or grated and the flavour is similar to that of brown sugar. Decrease heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes, stir occationally to melt panela.

In a small French press, put the ground coffee beans. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it reaches the top of the French press.

allow it to stand for four minutes, stirring only once. Push down the French press & pour the coffee right away.

Colombian coffee is best as a dark roast.  This because of the fuller, floral flavour, however light roasts made from Colombian beans are equally flavourful. While keeping the bean’s taste, cocoa & caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The tastes & smells of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s cultivating conditions and processes make it considered to be the best by many people, particually due to its distinct taste. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce flavourful coffee with great quality at higher elevations. They are then naturally processed on little farms by hand. The higher elevation produces a better flavoured bean. Due to its favourable meteorological attributes, Colombia coffee beans are a rich, somewhat fruity, and chocolaty taste.

The caffeine concentration of Colombian coffee is similar to that of other coffee beans. The caffeine concentration of a dark roast coffee is a little bit greater than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is small and may not be noticable. Depending on the sub-variety and amount of roasting, top quality Colombian Arabica coffee contains 30-50 mg per single espresso serving and up to 200 mg in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian beans are among the most renound & popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied flavour that is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more praised for their robust and balanced tastes than for their particular flavour profile. Guatemala coffee is also quite tasty coffee.

    • The hulling proceedure

Colombian coffee beans are dried under the sun for a few days or until the water content reaches about ten percent. This helps in the bean’s drying and prepares it for hulling. Sumatran coffee spends far less time in the sunshine. Sumatran coffee is hulled with a lot higher moisture content, sometimes as much as 20 percent.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.

The Colombian coffee region, is named the Coffee Triangle. It is a part of the Colombian Paisa area in the regional area of Colombia. It is famous for culturing the most of Colombian coffee.
