FAQs

Colombian Coffee exhibits a mild acidity and a robust caramel sweetness, possibly with a nut undertone, similar to higher-quality Peruvian coffees. They have the most distinct coffee flavour in North America, that of sweet and medium bodied.

It is possible to make strong Colombian coffee in comparison to non-Colombian coffee. The strength of the coffee is determined by the processing, roasting & brewing process. Therefore, Colombian coffee is just strong if it is made to be stronger.  Higher proportions of lower quality beans make a bitter coffee, yet Colombian coffee maintains its flavour profile even when pushed via more rigorous & vigorous brewing methods.

Colombian beans make a taste that is smooth, balanced, and light in body. There can be also overtones of fruit, almonds, & dark chocolate in the taste profile.

Colombian coffee beans are among one the best in the world. Colombia has a long history of cultivating Arabica beans, & their particular topography makes it perfect for producing a delicious, high quality drink. The coffee is known accross the globe for its taste & the destinctive mild but rich aroma that comes from each brew. That could explain why they have been producing coffee for ~200 years, & it’s been their highest export for most of that time.

Many people consider Costa Rican coffee as the top one in Central America. Elevation classes are assigned to Costa Rican beans, with the highest-rated beans produced at the highest elevation. These beans are called “strictly firm beans”.

In a little saucepan, bring water & panela to a boil. Panela is a product that is produced from sugarcane, it is sweet & brown, is sold in blocks or grated & the taste is like that of brown sugar. Reduce heat to low and cook for 30 minutes, stir occationally to melt panela.

In a small French press, place the ground beans. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it gets to the top of the French press.

allow it to stand for 4 minutes, stirring only once. Push down the French press and pour the coffee straight away.

Colombian coffee is most suited for a dark roast.  This because of the fuller, floral taste, however light roasts made from Colombian beans are just as flavourful. While retaining the bean’s taste, cocoa & caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The flavours & smells of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s farming conditions and processes make it thought to be the best by many people, especially because of its distinct taste. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce flavourful coffee with great quality at high altitudes. They are then prepared natually on little farms by hand. The high altitude produces a better flavoured bean. Because of its favourable meteorological conditions, Colombian coffee beans are a rich, somewhat fruity, and chocolaty flavour.

The caffeine content of Colombian coffee is similar to that of other coffee varieties. The caffeine content of a dark roast coffee is a little bit greater than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is small and may not be noticable. Depending on the sub-variety & degree of roasting, high-quality Colombian Arabica coffee has 30-50 mg per single espresso serving & up to 200 milligrams in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian coffee beans are among the most well-known & popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied taste which is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more praised for their robust & balanced tastes than for their particular flavour profile. Guatemala coffee is also quite good coffee.

    • The hulling proceedure

Colombian coffee beans are dried under the sun over a few days or until the moisture content gets to around 10%. This helps in the bean’s drying and preps it for hulling. Sumatran coffee stays a lot less time in the sunshine. Sumatran coffee is hulled with substantially greater water amount, sometimes as much as twenty percent.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.

The Colombian coffee area, is named the Coffee Triangle. It is a part of the Colombian Paisa area in the regional area of Colombia. It is renound for farming the largest amount of Colombian coffee.
