FAQs

Colombian Coffee provides a mild acidity and a robust caramel sweetness, often with a nutty undertone, similar to good quality Peruvian coffee beans. Colombian coffee beans have the most distinct coffee taste in North America, being sweet and medium-bodied.

It is possible to make strong Colombian coffee in comparison to other coffee types. The strength of the coffee is determined by the processing, roasting & brewing process. Therefore, Colombian coffee is only stronger if it is prepared to be stronger.  Increased amounts of lower-quality beans produce a bitter brew, yet Colombian coffee maintains its taste integrity even when pushed via more rigorous & vigorous brewing methods.

Colombian coffee beans make a cup that is smooth, balanced, & light in body. There are also overtones of fruit, almonds, and dark chocolate in the flavour profile.

Colombian coffee beans are among one the best in the world. Colombia has a long history of culturing Arabica coffee beans, and their particular topography makes it ideal for making a delicious, top quality bean. The coffee is known worldwide for its taste and the destinctive mild but rich aroma that comes from each brew. This may explain why they have been producing coffee for about 200 years, and it’s been their biggest export for the majority of that period.

Most people regard Costa Rican coffee as the top one in Central America. Altitude classes are given to Costa Rican beans, with the highest rated beans produced at the highest altitude. These beans are named “strictly firm beans”.

In a little pot, bring water and panela to a boil. Panela is a product that is made from sugarcane, it is sweet & brown, is sold in blocks or grated and the flavour is similar to that of brown sugar. Decrease heat to low & cook for 30 minutes, stir occationally to melt panela.

In a tiny French press, place the ground beans. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it reaches the brim of the French press.

allow it to stand for four minutes, stirring only once. Plunge the French press and pour the coffee straight away.

Colombian coffee is best as a dark roast.  This because of the fuller, floral taste, however light roasts made from Colombian beans are just as flavourful. While keeping the bean’s taste, cocoa and caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The tastes and smells of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s growing conditions & processes make it considered to be the best by a lot of people, particually due to its distinct flavour. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce tasty coffee with great quality at higher elevations. They are then prepared natually on small farms by hand. The higher altitude produces a nicer flavoured coffee bean. Because of its favourable climatic characteristics, Colombian coffee is a rich, somewhat fruity, & chocolaty taste.

The caffeine content of Colombian coffee is comparable to that of other coffees. The caffeine content of a dark roast coffee is a little bit higher than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is small & may not be noticable. Depending on the sub-variety & degree of roasting, high-quality Colombian Arabica coffee has 30-50 milligrams per each espresso serving and up to 200 milligrams in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian coffee beans are among the most renound and popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied taste that is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more praised for their robust & balanced flavours than for their particular flavour profile. Guatemala coffee is also very good coffee.

    • The hulling process

Colombian coffee beans are dried benith the sun for a few days or until the moisture content gets to about ten percent. This helps in the bean’s drying & preps it for hulling. Sumatran coffee stays a lot less time in the sun. Sumatran coffee is hulled with significantly greater moisture content, at times as high as 20 percent.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.

The Colombian coffee area, is called the Coffee Triangle. It is a part of the Colombian Paisa region in the rural area of Colombia. It is renound for culturing the majority of Colombian coffee.
