FAQs

Colombian Coffee exhibits a mild acidity & a robust caramel sweetness, occationally with a nutty undertone, similar to higher-quality Peruvian coffees. They have the most identifiable coffee taste in North America, that of sweet and medium bodied.

It is possible to produce strong Colombian coffee compared to other coffee. The strength of the coffee is influenced by the processing, roasting & brewing methods. Thus, Colombian coffee is just stronger if it is made to be strong.  Increased percentage of lower-quality beans result in a bitter coffee, but Colombian coffee keeps its taste profile even when pushed via more rigorous & vigorous brewing methods.

These coffee beans provide a flavour that is smooth, balanced, and light in body. There can be also overtones of fruit, almonds, and dark chocolate in the flavour profile.

Colombian coffee beans are among one the finest in the world. Colombia has a long history of producing Arabica coffee, & their specific topography makes it ideal for producing a tastey, high quality brew. The coffee is known worldwide for its flavour & the distinct mild but rich aroma which rises from each cup. That may explain why they have been growing coffee for ~200 years, & it’s been their highest export for the majority of that time.

Most people consider Costa Rican coffee as the top one in Central America. Altitude ratings are assigned to Costa Rican beans, with the highest rated beans farmed at the highest elevation. These beans are referred to as “strictly high grown”.

In a little saucepan, boil water and panela. Panela is a product that is produced with sugarcane, it is sweet and brown, is sold in blocks or grated and the flavour is like that of brown sugar. Decrease heat to low and simmer for 30 min, stir occationally to melt panela.

In a little French press, put the ground beans. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it reaches the brim of the French press.

allow it to stand for four min, stirring once during the time. Push down the French press & pour the coffee right away.

Colombian coffee is most suited for a dark roast.  This because of the fuller, floral flavour, but light roasts made from Colombian beans are just as delicious. While retaining the bean’s taste, cocoa and caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The flavours and aromas of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s growing conditions and processes make it considered to be the best by many people, particually because of its distinct flavour. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce flavourful coffee with excellent quality at higher altitudes. They are then prepared natually on small farms by hand. The high elevation makes for a better tasting bean. Due to its favourable meteorological characteristics, Colombian coffee is a rich, somewhat fruity, and chocolaty taste.

The caffeine concentration of Colombian coffee is similar to that of other coffee beans. The caffeine content of a dark roast coffee is slightly greater than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is minor & may not be noticable. Depending on the sub-variety and amount of roasting, high quality Colombian Arabica coffee contains 30-50 milligrams per single espresso serving & up to 200 mg in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian beans are among the most well-known & popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied flavour which is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more praised for their robust and balanced flavours than for their particular taste profile. Guatemala coffee is also very tasty coffee.

    • The hulling proceedure

Colombian coffee beans are dried under the sun for a few days or until the water content reaches about 10%. This helps in the bean’s drying and preps it for hulling. Sumatran coffee spends a lot less time in the sunshine. Sumatran coffee is hulled with substantially greater moisture content, at times as much as 20 percent.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.

The Colombian coffee region, is called the Coffee Triangle. It is a part of the Colombian Paisa area in the rural area of Colombia. It is renound for producing the largest amount of Colombian coffee.
