FAQs

Colombian Coffee provides a mild acidity and a robust caramel sweetness, often with a nutty undertone, similar to high quality Peruvian coffee beans. They have the most identifiable coffee taste in North America, being sweet & medium bodied.

It is possible to produce strong Colombian coffee compared to non-Colombian coffee. The strength of the coffee will depend on the processing, roasting & brewing methods. Thus, Colombian coffee is just stronger if it is made to be strong.  Higher proportions of lower-quality beans produce a bitter brew, yet Colombian coffee keeps its taste integrity even when pushed via more rigorous and vigorous brewing processes.

Colombian beans make a flavour that is smooth, balanced, & light in body. There can be also overtones of fruit, almonds, & dark chocolate in the flavour profile.

Colombian coffee beans are among one the finest in the world. Colombia has a long history of growing Arabica coffee, & the country’s specific topography makes it perfect for producing a tastey, top quality drink. The coffee is known accross the world for its taste and the destinctive mild but rich aroma which comes from each brew. This may explain why they have been growing coffee for ~200 years, & it’s been their leading export for the majority of that period.

Many people consider Costa Rican coffee as the top one in Central America. Elevation classes are assigned to Costa Rican beans, with the highest-rated beans grown at the highest elevation. These beans are known as strictly hard beans”.

In a little pot, bring water and panela to a boil. Panela is a product that is produced from sugarcane, it is sweet and brown, is sold in blocks or grated and the taste is like that of brown sugar. Decrease heat to low & simmer for 30 min, occasionally stirring to melt panela.

In a little French press, place the ground beans. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it reaches the top of the French press.

allow it to stand for four minutes, stirring once during the time. Push down the French press & pour the coffee straight away.

Colombian coffee is most suited for a dark roast.  This because of the fuller, floral taste, however light roasts made from Colombian beans are just as delicious. While retaining the bean’s flavour, cocoa and caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The tastes & smells of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s producing conditions & processes make it considered to be the best by many people, particually due to its distinct flavour. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce tasty coffee with great quality at higher altitudes. They are then naturally prepared on small farms by hand. The high altitude makes for a better tasting bean. Due to its favourable climatic attributes, Colombian coffee is a rich, somewhat fruity, & chocolaty flavour.

The caffeine content of Colombian coffee is similar to that of other coffee beans. The caffeine concentration of a dark roast coffee is slightly greater than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is small & may not be noticable. Depending on the sub-variety & degree of roasting, high-quality Colombian Arabica coffee contains 30-50 milligrams per each espresso serving and up to 200 mg in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian beans are among the most renound and popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied flavour which is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more known for their robust & balanced tastes than for their particular flavour profile. Guatemala coffee is also very good coffee.

    • The hulling proceedure

Colombian coffee beans are dried benith the sun over a few days or until the water content reaches about 10 percent. This aids in the bean’s drying & prepares it for hulling. Sumatran coffee stays a lot less time in the sun. Sumatran coffee is hulled with significantly greater water amount, at times as high as 20%.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.

The Colombian coffee region, is known as the Coffee Triangle. It is a part of the Colombian Paisa area in the rural area of Colombia. It is renound for culturing the majority of Colombian coffee.
