FAQs

Colombian Coffee exhibits a mild acidity & a robust caramel sweetness, possibly with a nutty undertone, similar to high quality Peruvian coffee beans. Colombian coffee beans have the most identifiable coffee flavour in North America, that of sweet & medium-bodied.

It is possible to produce strong Colombian coffee compared to non-Colombian coffee. The strength of the coffee will depend on the processing, roasting and brewing methods. Thus, Colombian coffee is only stronger if it is made to be strong.  Higher percentage of lower-quality beans produce a bitter brew, but Colombian coffee maintains its taste profile even when pushed via more rigorous & vigorous brewing methods.

These coffee beans provide a flavour that is smooth, balanced, and light in body. There can be also overtones of fruit, almonds, and dark chocolate in the taste profile.

Colombian coffee beans are among one the best in the world. Colombia has a long history of growing Arabica coffee, & their specific topography makes it perfect for producing a tastey, high-quality beverage. The coffee is renowned worldwide for its flavour & the distinct mild but rich aroma which comes from each brew. This could explain why they have been producing coffee for ~200 years, & it’s been their highest export for most of that time.

Many people consider Costa Rican coffee as the best in Central America. Elevation ratings are given to Costa Rican beans, with the best rated beans grown at the highest altitude. These beans are called strictly hard beans”.

In a little pot, bring water and panela to a boil. Panela is a product that is made with sugarcane, it is sweet & brown, is sold in blocks or grated and the taste is similar to that of brown sugar. Decrease heat to low and simmer for 30 min, occasionally stirring to melt panela.

In a little French press, place the ground coffee beans. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it gets to the brim of the French press.

allow it to stand for 4 minutes, stirring only once. Plunge the French press & pour the coffee straight away.

Colombian coffee is best as a dark roast.  This as a result of the fuller, floral taste, however light roasts made from Colombian beans are just as delicious. While retaining the bean’s taste, cocoa and caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The flavours and smells of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s cultivating conditions & processes make it thought to be the best by a lot of people, particually because of its distinct flavour. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce flavourful coffee with outstanding quality at high elevations. They are then naturally processed on little farms by hand. The higher elevation makes for a nicer flavoured coffee bean. Due to its favourable meteorological attributes, Colombia coffee is a rich, somewhat fruity, & chocolaty flavour.

The caffeine content of Colombian coffee is similar to that of other coffee varieties. The caffeine content of a dark roast coffee is a little bit higher than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is minor & may not be noticable. Depending on the sub-variety and amount of roasting, high quality Colombian Arabica coffee has 30-50 mg per each espresso serving and up to 200 mg in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian coffee beans are among the most well-known & popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied flavour that is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more known for their robust & balanced tastes than for their particular flavour profile. Guatemala coffee is also very tasty coffee.

    • The hulling process

Colombian coffee beans are dried benith the sun over a few days or until the water content gets to about 10%. This aids in the bean’s drying & preps it for hulling. Sumatran coffee stays a lot less time in the sun. Sumatran coffee is hulled with significantly higher water amount, at times as much as 20%.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.
