FAQs

Colombian Coffee provides a mild acidity & a robust caramel sweetness, possibly with a nut undertone, similar to higher-quality Peruvian coffees. Colombian coffee beans have the most well known coffee taste in North America, that of sweet and medium bodied.

It is possible to make strong Colombian coffee in comparison to non-Colombian coffee types. The strength of the coffee is determined by the processing, roasting & brewing process. Thus, Colombian coffee is just stronger if it is prepared to be stronger.  Increased proportions of low quality beans result in a bitter brew, but Colombian coffee keeps its flavour integrity even when pushed via more rigorous and vigorous brewing processes.

These coffee beans make a cup that is smooth, balanced, and light in body. There are also overtones of fruit, almonds, and dark chocolate in the taste profile.

Colombian coffee is among one the finest in the world. Colombia has a long history of farming Arabica coffee beans, and their specific topography makes it ideal for making a delicious, high quality drink. The coffee is renowned worldwide for its flavour & the distinct mild but rich aroma that comes from each cup. This may explain why they have been growing coffee for about 200 years, and it’s been their biggest export for the majority of that period.

Many people regard Costa Rican coffee as the top one in Central America. Elevation ratings are given to Costa Rican beans, with the highest-rated beans farmed at the greatest elevation. These beans are called “strictly high grown”.

In a small pot, bring water & panela to a boil. Panela is a product that is made from sugarcane, it is sweet & brown, is marketed in blocks or grated & the flavour is like that of brown sugar. Reduce heat to low & simmer for 30 min, occasionally stirring to melt panela.

In a tiny French press, place the ground beans. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it reaches the top of the French press.

Brew for 4 minutes, stirring only once. Plunge the French press & pour the coffee straight away.

Colombian coffee beans are best as a dark roast.  This due to the fuller, floral flavour, however light roasts made from Colombian beans are just as delicious. While keeping the bean’s taste, cocoa & caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The tastes and aromas of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s farming conditions and processes make it thought to be the best by many people, particually due to its distinct flavour. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce tasty coffee with excellent quality at high altitudes. They are then naturally processed on little farms by hand. The higher elevation makes for a nicer tasting bean. Because of its favourable climatic characteristics, Colombia coffee is a rich, somewhat fruity, & chocolaty taste.

The caffeine content of Colombian coffee is comparable to that of other coffee varieties. The caffeine concentration of a dark roast coffee is slightly higher than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is minor & may go unnoticed. Depending on the sub-variety and degree of roasting, high quality Colombian Arabica coffee has 30-50 milligrams per each espresso serving & up to 200 mg in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian beans are among the most well-known & popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied taste which is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more known for their robust and balanced flavours than for their particular flavour profile. Guatemala coffee is also very tasty coffee.

    • The hulling process

Colombian coffee beans are dried under the sun for a few days or until the water amount gets to about ten percent. This helps in the bean’s drying and prepares it for hulling. Sumatran coffee spends a lot less time in the sun. Sumatran coffee is hulled with a lot greater water content, at times as high as twenty percent.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.

The Colombian coffee area, is named the Coffee Triangle. It is a part of the Colombian Paisa region in the regional area of Colombia. It is renound for producing the biggest amount of Colombian coffee.
